synaesthesia
I joined my friends for dessert here last night for the churros. A dozen for $3, and they were yummy. They were perfectly fried - not greasy at all. The chocolate for the dipping left something to be desired. Weak and watery - we were debating whether the thickness of the chocolate depends on the time of day or the region of Spain.
The Hersch
I was thinking I might have dinner here with friends this month. I haven't been for probably at least ten years. Anyone eaten at Churreria Madrid, a Washington institution, in the not-too-distant past? Any good?
saf
Anyone eaten at Churreria Madrid, a Washington institution, in the not-too-distant past? Any good? We eat there pretty regularly. It's fine. It is not the wonderful revelation it was when I first walked in there in the early 80s. But we still enjoy it. We are prone to ordering a bunch of apps and then churros. saf
Went for the first time in a number of years last night. It was fine, but I dunno how I feel about eating there regularly again. Service was good. Place was dead. Upstairs was closed. Sangria, all the apps, churros, chocolate.
