  1. It is a little bit like spicy, buttery mush, but it's better than a lot of the other much more tasteless and greasier mushes that are sold in Union Station. Plus, after all the years I've eaten Aditi, there's still been no cigarettes in my briyani, and it's never rotten or smelly. I cannot say the same for finding unpleasant suprises in other Union Station culinary emporiums. (it's sad that we've come to 'not tainted' as a ruler of excellence here in the neighborhood.)
  2. I'm marooned between Union Station and the MCI Center, and I need to go out for a quick lunch now and again. I have the Billy Goat (feh!), the Sunspot Cafe (found a cigarette butt in my salad last week - yes, really), and a Philips near me for quick food, but a girl needs variety. Does anyone have suggestions on what to eat - either quick sit down, or, better, to go? I'm Union Station Food Court fatigued, but if you've got standouts, I'd love to know. (I eat a good amount of Aditi) I've eaten at those Irish pubs, too, and they taste....sort of like the night after a bender. Of course, I'm counting the days until Johnny's Half Shell shows up.... --- [The following posts have been split into separate threads: Capital City Brewing Company (JPW) Kyoto Sushi (NolaCaine)]
  3. When I drove past last night, there were fierce looking valets monitoring the lot - no sign that it was for FL customers only. And Clarendon is going to hell. Seriously. The advent of the Commons made the boulevard has lose most of its charm. Arlington is a far cry from the place that had all the great vietnamese restaurants, the good punk rock and the cheap rent in the early 90s. (Remember Strangeways and Bardo Rodeo?)
  4. Most efficient food: Croatia Air. On the 90 minute flight from London to Zagreb, we got a full hot meal (Croatian dumpling kind of thing, good vegetables that were cooked properly), with wine, coffee, dessert and hot bread, warmed in a seperate bread oven (bread is big in Croatia). If only my flights from O'Hare to DC were so nice....
  5. The sign said that the landlord declined to renew the lease. I only hope that we can still get ice cream at Clare and Don's - I know that Red hot and Blue's freezers were holding their entire ice cream stash. On another Claredon is going to hell note: Faccia Luna has lost their parking lot. *sigh*
  6. OK, since when is FOAM a food group? I ordered a dessert at Atlantico because it had "banana foam" and I was dying to know, but it was just banana flavored whipped cream. Was that so hard, or am I just a great big philistine?
