Delaware restaurant owner bites back at negative Yelp reviewers, by Patricia Talorico, October 25, 2018, The News Journal on delawareonline.com.

Not sure anyone cares given the lack of interest in this thread, but we drove by the other day and this place is CLOSED. From the looks of things, it appears to have been closed for quite some time. A $10 hamburger seems like a bargain today.

I’ve heard Yoko Ono screeching precisely once in my life. When I was young, I bought a 45 by either John Lennon or The Beatles (I can’t remember what it was), but on the B side was a song called “Touch Me,” and all it was (or at least all I remember from many decades ago) was a chord or two, followed by Yoko Ono making these primal screams. At that stage of my life - and I may still have been very young (I bought it at Waxie Maxie’s in White Oak (PS - I know Max’s son quite well)) - it was my WOAT (Worst of All-Time).

I think this place has permanently closed. Its internet presence is fading.

We have had several enjoyable beer drinking sessions at this place over the years. Messages on their website and social media indicate that they are vacating the premises and looking for a new home. I wish them luck.
QuoteWE ARE ON THE MOVE!
Top Hops is excited to announce that we’re embarking on a search for a new location for our brick and mortar flagship shop, ideally in the same neighborhood that we’ve grown to love so much. 94 Orchard Street, which we opened in 2012, has been a home to us for nearly a decade and while change is never easy, it’s the right move at the right time. When we find a new space, you’ll be the first to know. Please follow our social media for all the updates.
Our 94 Orchard doors will close on Sunday, April 18th. We’d love to see you for a last pint before we leave. We will be open on St. Patrick’s Day and, effective for the next month, we will be open for 50% indoor and outdoor service, weather permitting, Thursday through Saturday and on that final Sunday, the 18th. Thursday & Friday: 3pm to 11pm. Saturday: 1pm to 11pm.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of ways to get your Top Hops fix. Our nearby Essex Market location remains open (per COVID-19 protocols) and our Urbanspace 570 Lex is scheduled to open on May 1st. Our online delivery, takeout and UPS shipment service (to 25+ states!) continue uninterrupted, observant of all coronavirus protocols. Ditto for our popular Virtual Tasting Classes.

Tonight we are enjoying poke. The delicious tuna was delivered by Georgetown Butcher. They have fantastic fish there. Last night we enjoyed their halibut, pan-seared, with a butter, caper and lemon sauce, on mashed Yukon gold potatoes.

I was searching for something else and stumbled across the website for Tazza Cafe which looks like it took over the old Campono space. Not sure how long its been there. Maybe if the Kennedy Center reopens and I get a vaccine I'll give it a try. They have the wood oven pizzas. The rest of the menu leans Mediterranean.

I know these times are tough and so many are in need. He has a "go fund me" page for his wife and kids. Do not know how to link it. It is under Andrew La Porta. Just so you know it is out there.

Apparently, this thread is the best current source of information about the Sez-A-Me Seeds which doesn't bode well. However, I just pinged John Kelly from the Washington Post - he's *perfect* for this type of research, but only if he gets interested.
He appended it at the end of this story:

Watching what is going on at the Capitol I am raiding my liquor cabinet for any available alcohol. 6pm curfew in the District tonight folks. No one outside. No travel by car or other modes of transportation. If you need food or other essentials get it now.

Sounds like you might like the improbably long named Heritage Brewing Co. Brewpub and Roastery at Market Common. Been here maybe a half dozen times since it opened, mostly during the day on weekends. Warm space, not too big. Music good. Never too crowded but always reasonably full. They seem to pay attention to the food. Hand-cut fries. Daily soups - today was a squash soup with some apricot accent. On another visit I enjoyed the house made chicken liver pâté served in its own little jar with some good bread. That and a grilled endive and citrus salad and you got yourself a nice mid-day meal. It is not a large menu, and maybe it will not appeal to all tastes, but they do convey the impression that they care about what they are doing, but without noticeable affect (except, perhaps, on their website). Most of the beer they make out in Manassas. They have the ability to brew small batch beers on site, but I have never seen them actually pour anything. Full bar, if that's how you roll.
Never mind. Closed for good per their Facebook and Instagram accounts. Unfortunate for sure.

Does anyone have any ideas for a brunch type of meal after an interment ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery? The interment is Monday, November 9th at 9:00 am, which means it will finish up around 9:30. That would put us at a restaurant at 10:00 am or so. I'm looking at about 25 people, possibly a few more.
Any ideas in the area close to the cemetery or Old Town? (or anywhere else that's semi local?)
Thanks!
BartRuthie's All Day is a new restaurant not far from the cemetery. They are currently open only for dinner but they are working their way to breakfast and lunch as well. You might want to give them a ring and see if they will open for your group. Give them a chance to test out the brunch service. I am sure they would appreciate the business in these difficult times. They also sport a nice sized patio.

Last I read they expect this to be a category 3 at landfall late Sunday / early Monday. I can't believe most restaurants would be expecting much (if any) traffic under such conditions to warrant being open.
