DonRocks
I've enjoyed Crying Tiger several times in the past at the aptly named Bangkok Blues (back when it was Bangkok-Vientiane). Does anyone else know where to find a good rendition?
KMango
I've enjoyed Crying Tiger several times in the past at the aptly named Bangkok Blues (back when it was Bangkok-Vientiane). Does anyone else know where to find a good rendition? I had a version at Thai Luang in Herndon/Reston (Elden Street) a couple of years ago that nearly melted my hair. Crazy delicious, though. ymmv
RWBooneJr
I've enjoyed Crying Tiger several times in the past at the aptly named Bangkok Blues (back when it was Bangkok-Vientiane). Does anyone else know where to find a good rendition? I saw a somewhat anemic version on CNN about an hour ago, but I'm guessing that you did too and that's what jogged your memory. bilrus
Funny. I just googled for Crying Tiger because I can't find my recipe anywhere and what comes up as the #6 link but this thread from this week. I wasn't sure if I'd get the Thai steak recipe or images from Tigers press conference on Friday. That said there is an ok version at Burapa Thai in Ashburn Village but the best I ever had was at a now closed place in ashburn called Tawan Thai. DonRocks
I believe that Arthur Rubenstein's bow at the 7:00 mark is insincere and completely scripted. He bows to the center twice, then does the standard-issue "double triple" ... bottom-right, bottom-center, bottom-left, then top-right, top-center, top-left. And then one more center bow at the end, before walking off stage. Judge for yourselves.

Don, Rice and Noodles near Kingstowne does a respectable version. My favorite was the one at the now-closed Cajun Bangkok in Alexandria.
