cheezepowder Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 This weekend, I had a hot pastrami sandwich from the Mile End Deli on 53 Bond Street (NoHo). The pastrami comes with fried onions and maple mustard on rye. I'm not sure how they heated the pastrami, but it was chewy and salty, and parts of it reminded me of bacon. The maple mustard was sweet and pungent, and the onions were crispy fried (rather than soft) and added an extra fattiness to the sandwich. Overall, I thought the sandwich was salty and had strong competing flavors. I don't think I'll get it again.
DonRocks Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I don't think I'll get it again. Smoked Meat Poutine? This menu really makes me think about DGS Delicatessen. It's both Ashkenazi and Sephardic, two words already vying to be the first additions on 2014's Trite Food List.
