porcupine
The only thing I'd say about hte greens is that the mache and the tat soi are both too immature as pictured to show their real flavor in a salad. Does anyone know where I can buy máche? I grew it once successfully, another year it was a disaster. There's a farmer who sets up at the Clarendon market who rarely has it; he told me he sells almost all to restaurants. Help?

I'm hitting up a couple of those today, so I'll take a look.

I've bought it at Whole Foods in Old Town, possibly also in Clarendon, but haven't noticed it real recently.
zoramargolis
I haven't seen any recently, either. It must be out of season, even for the greenhouse and southerly growers. In-season, I have bought it at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Heinz Thomet of Next Step Produce sells it at the Dupont Market--but not during the winter. LauraB
They had máché at Whole Foods in Fair Oaks. In the plastic tubs near the other tubs o' lettuce. Same with the Whole Foods on P Street. I've seen it there within the last week.
porcupine
Thanks, all, for the reports. I haven't been into a Whole Foods in over a year. This will be a sore test of my resolve.
