Chris Evert just said (after the 2019 Wimbledon Singles final, in which Simona Halep defeated Serena Williams, 6-2, 6-2), "Boy, I wasn't expecting this."

I'm surprised Evert said that - I would have put my money on Halep before this match.

The two-time former world #1 has now won two Grand Slams, one on clay, and the other on grass.

My wife didn’t believe me when I said (yes, BEFORE the match) that Halep was going to win.

Tiriac was fun to watch.  He looked scary.  Apparently, he still does.

I was trying to think of someone else her style of play reminded me of, and the first person who came to mind was Justine Henin (I'm not saying that's right or wrong; only that it's the first person who came to mind).

Interestingly, Halep's idols growing up were Federer and Henin.
