  1. Harmony can be found in Middletown, Pa.  This spot was recommended highly by someone I met at a folklore fair. We instantly bonded over our love of food. Stepping into this space in the sleepy town of Middletown surprised me in the best possible way. It by far is the best Chinese food I have had to date. Visit with an open mind and hungry stomach. No where on the menu will you find General Tso's or egg drop soup. This is Chinese provincial cuisine. You will be feasting on a taste of X'ian. 

    I have been a few times, but always on my own. My next visit I hope to bring a group cause food always taste better when shared. Howard Dong, the proprietor shares his love for food, and makes you feel right at home once you enter. When I first met Howard, he warmly welcomed me as if he had known me for years. He enthusiastically describe each dish on the menu with historical detail without sounding like he was citing a book report or listing ingredients. If you happen to find yourself within 50 miles of the Harrisburg region, I highly recommend you visit.

     Troeg's is most certainly a area favorite. There are several other breweries that have followed their model for food and beverage. There is Evergrain in Camp Hill, and Zeroday Brewing which is near Millworks.  If you happen to be passing through again, please give me a shout out. I am happy to give you a layout of places to visit while in Harrisburg, The are are so may delicious nooks and crannies in the 'Burg. Happy to serve as your "virtual" guide.

    Lots of restaurants will be open on Nov. 22. If I wasn't hosting my own feast next month, I'd be inclined to check out the menus of such reliable establishments as the Oval Room (near the White House), Corduroy (near the convention center), 1789 (near Georgetown University), Bourbon Steak in the Four Seasons or Art & Soul on the Hill.  I would be inclined to pick a restaurant that offered not just tradition on a plate, but interesting sites to see before or after the meal.

    I had no idea this spot was based in Annapolis. There is an outpost at Belvedere Square in Baltimore. There are so many spots at the Square, I just overlooked Mason’s. Ill need to check it out on my next visit. 

  5. I always do a little happy dance when someone post to the Corduroy thread. I was wondering @Mark Slater if Chef plans on being open on Thanksgiving. I have yet to have turkey & stuffing as good as one that has been served at Corduroy. And the more pressing question, will I be able to have it the day after? Gives me a perfect excuse to stop in for dinner and visit the crew.

  6. Thank you @DonRocks for the exemplary review. I certainly look forward to my trip to Philly. I was hoping on going this weekend, but my tasting ability is not quite 100%. I will wait till I feel better cause I want to be able to savor every bit of this meal. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a extraordinary one. I enjoy sitting at the bar, so I will plan on being there just before opening. 

    This may turn into a weekend treat, cause my reason for visiting is to try Vernick Coffee Bar. I will report back once I have indulged in both.

    I have spent a great deal of time on Twitter following food bloggers, and food people in general that report about the Philly dining scene. I hope to enlist a few people to join the forum to report what's going on  in Philly. There  are so many neighborhoods in Philly to cover, and that is just Center City. I continue to spread the value of this forum, and hope along the way, someone takes my advice and joins the conversation. We are by far the most informed forum, or resource out there. We can do this, I believe we can.

    The shop with the byob dining is in Lititz, PA, and they're also at the Lancaster Central Market several days a week.

    WOW! I love that you mentioned Rooster Street Butcher! They are a highly regarded by many cooks/chefs in the area. You can often find product from the butcher shop on various menus throughout the city of Lancaster.  They have by far the best charcuterie board I have had to date. These boards are made of of various pates ,cheeses and smoked meats as well as an addition of pickled veggies. 

    Could this thread please be moved to the Philly forum, @DonRocks?

    Chef Peters idea is the open up sushi lovers pallets to new things.

    We specialize in a sushi bar that seats over 20 people and we do two Omakase seatings each evening by reservation.  Each seating will only have 10 seats available.

    The images on our instagram page are from various pop ups we have had while under construction.   They are all from his Omakase menu which changes every night.

    I got the lead after I got a notification that their Instagram account started following me. I naturally reached out to them to see if they were interested in having a "chat" about the opening. They responded and I will be setting something up next week. So please list any questions you may want answered, and I will do my best to get as much information as possible for our members.
