Restaurants Open Friday Night, February 5th

Kababji Grill (1351 Connecticut Ave. NW; Washington, DC; 202-822-8999; www.kabab-ji.com) is celebrating this winter weather as they stay open for those Washingtonian's looking to dine out this weekend. Serving their authentic Lebanese cuisine, Kababji will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. both Friday and Saturday as the snow piles up outside. For those hoping to stay inside during this winter weather, Kababji will deliver to locations within a two-block radius of the eatery!

Belga Cafe is open this weekend as is VOLT up in Frederick, Maryland. For those venturing up to Frederick and need a place to stay... Frederick Marriotts are offering special Blizzard rates listed below!

Due to the impending inclement weather this weekend, both the Courtyard and Fairfield Inn & Suites have implemented a “blizzard rate” of $89. The rate will be available starting tomorrow, Friday, 2/5/10, through Sunday, 2/7/10. Guests who would like to take advantage of this steeply discounted rate must request the “blizzard rate” when making their reservations.

Birch & Barley/Churchkey is open tonight, and so are the rest of the NRG restaurants.

Actually, Talulla is closed for dinner tonight and tomorrow. Here's the full update from NRG's e-newsletter.

Columbia Firehouse is open for Lunch & Dinner today, though the dining room may close a bit early this evening depending on conditions. Open Saturday at 11:00 am serving a limited menu and full bar throughout the day. The restaurant will make every effort to stay open into the evening on Saturday. Open for Brunch on Sunday beginning 11:00 am. The Big Superbowl Bash is definitely still on for Sunday beginning 5:00 pm! Call 703.683.1776 for more information.

Birch & Barley / ChurchKey

Both Birch & Barley and ChurchKey will be open this evening for dinner, though they may close a bit earlier than usual depending on the conditions. ChurchKey will actually open early tomorrow and serve lunch throughout the day beginning at noon. Both restaurants hope to be open for dinner on Saturday, though the menus may be paired back a bit. ChurchKey will open again at noon on Sunday and dinner service should return to normal by Sunday night at both. Call 202.518.7451 for more information.

The Evening Star Cafe in Del Ray is open for dinner this evening, though the dining room may close earlier than usual. The bar and lounge however, will remain open well into the evening. The restaurant will open for Brunch on Saturday at 10 am and remain open throughout the day, serving a limited menu during dinner. The bar and lounge will remain open throughout and things should return to normal in time for Sunday brunch at 10 am. For more information, please call 703.549-5051.

Rustico is open today and tonight (and running a cool special on Sierra Nevada, natch), serving dinner for as long and as late as possible. The restaurant and bar will be open Saturday beginning at 11:30 for lunch with the possibility of a limited menu, and will make every effort to remain open well into the evening. Vermilion is open for Lunch and Dinner today, and will remain open in the restaurant, bar and lounge for as long as conditions permit. Vermilion will be closed for lunch tomorrow, and will open for dinner with a limited menu if conditions allow. Things should get back to normal in time for Sunday Brunch beginning at 11:00 am. Tallula / EatBar

Tallula will be closed for dinner service tonight and tomorrow. EatBar will be open this evening for dinner and drinks for as long as possible. Both restaurants will be closed for Brunch on Saturday. EatBar will make every effort to open up Saturday night, likely with a limited menu, based on conditions. All should return to normal in time for Brunch at Tallula and EatBar on Sunday beginning at 11:00 am. For more information, call 703.778.5051.

Buzz Bakery is open for business today and into the early evening. They will likely close well before midnight, but will hopefully re-open tomorrow by 8:00 am and remain open well into the day. New Heights' Bar (only the bar) will be open!!!

Come in and have Jason (the best bartender in town in my humble opinion) serve you up some adult beverages and exquisite libations!

We just got an amazing Tequila delivery today, no one else in the city has these!!

We will also be offering cookies, cheeses, and housemade charcuterie.

Just a heads up for those of you venturing out this weekend

3 will be open tonight until the weather gets really bad

Sat 6th- Open by 5 pm (closed for lunch)

Sun 7th- Open for Brunch from 11am-3pm



Whitlow's is open tonight under the same premise as above

Sat 6th- opening around 11 am for the duration

Sun 7th-opening at 9am for the duration.
