Dim Sum - Early Morning or Mid Afternoon

My cousin will be in town on a Saturday - staying in Alexandria (the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center) - and I want to meet him for dim sum. But here's the rub - he's available from 8-11 am, or 1-5 pm.

So ... any suggestions of dim sum places located a reasonable drive from where he's staying, that would be open at those hours? (I know very little about non-metro accessible VA...) Thanks!!

You might try A&J in Annandale.

China Garden in Rosslyn would be my recommendation. They do not open until 11:00, but should be fine after 1:00.

Limited selection but Sampan Cafe might fill a small niche from 1-2pm or 3pm (Might want to call first). Otherwise, maybe A&J in Annandale for Northern style dim sum after 1pm?

My last couple of visits to Sampan were forgettable. The quality has slipped of late....
