Rieux
Headed to see Into the Woods tomorrow evening, and want to grab dinner for 2 afterwards around 7:30. After a lot of heavy holiday eating, I'm craving somewhere where we can eat on the light side (i.e. no French) so I thought Seafood, but open to other ideas. We will have a car, so anywhere nearish is fine, but I'd rather not venture into VA or downtown, as we live in Mt. Pleasant and it seems out of the way. I immediately thought of Blacksalt, but they are booked on Open Table. Should we try to get in as a walk-in? Try to sit at the bar? Or, other suggestions in the Friendship Heights/Bethesda/Palisades, etc. areas? Thanks!
lekkerwijn
You'll be at Mazza - Friendship Heights is a dead zone for food outside of Range/Aggio and Sushi Ko. I guess you could walk across the street to Clydes and for oysters. I haven't been to Sushi Ko in almost a year so can't speak to quality at the moment. Other options in that area that are good, but probably not what you are looking for - Macon Bistro, Terasol, and Masala Art. But you might also be fine trying for a walk in Blacksalt and sitting at the bar.

ktmoomau
If you really wanted Blacksalt, you could try just going to Black's in Bethesda, it isn't that far away? If not Range might be your best option. I did really enjoy their Caesar salad.
Rieux
Thanks all, For now we may just take our chances and try to get into the bar at Blacksalt. I didn't think of Black's though, which I have never been to.... interesting option.
DanielK
If you're willing to drive the 10-15 minutes past Chevy Chase to Bethesda, I recommend Grapeseed over Black's. Plenty of OpenTable availability, and you should be able to walk in anyway.
DanielK
So, where did you land up? Inspired by my own post, I went to Grapeseed last night. :-)
Rieux
Ended up coming back towards home and hitting Sakuramen in Adams Morgan. Our desire for hot soup and noodles beat out our desire to have healthy food.
