With the second half of May 28, 2020 Green Almond Pantry's amazing dinner of Whole Joyce Farm Chicken baked in Salt with Celery Walnut Pesto, I composed a delicious lunch salad with The Chef's Garden Best of the Day Mixed Greens, Spinach, Lettuce, Kohlrabi (marinated in Ramp Mignonette & Celtic Salt) + finished w/ Organic Lemon Juice and Zest located on The Chef's Garden thread.

  3. I had the same initial reaction. From my "Best of the Season" home delivery, I can get 7 salads in my 3-qt large salad bowl you see in my photos with more Kohlrabi and Mixed Root vegetables left to make other dishes. $89 includes overnight shipping. Cost per salad for 7 = $12.72 (not taking into account the extra Kohlrabi and Mixed Root vegetables I mentioned so the price is actually lower for the salads). I realize protein is not included. Quality for price surpasses ALL options in my opinion. And I will forgo the convenience of any fast casual to make my own at home with my home delivery from The Chef's Garden. I'm a single household so the shelf life of 2 to 3 weeks seals the deal for me. I purchase about every 12 days and rotating between the "Best of the Season" and "Immunity Booster". I haven't tried the other boxes yet. If you decide to try, I highly recommend skipping the "Introduction Box" and start with "Best of the Season", which is a much better value, and for now you get the featured Colossal Asparagus, Baby Summer Squash and Kohlrabi (not included in the Introduction Box).

  6. Earlier this month, simple and delicious dinner of Foraged Morels and Ramps, Fresh Garlic Clove, Path Valley Farm Butter and EVOO atop Opera Bucatini. Immediately plated with Earth N Eats Baby Greens and Lemon Zest for the win.
  7. Green Almond Pantry posted in their Instagram & Facebook stories. Accepting orders for Thursday, May 28, 2020 Dinner pickup 4-6PM. Whole Joyce Farm Chicken baked in Salt with Celery Walnut Pesto + Market Salads & Focaccia. Enough for 2. I just purchased my order before sell out. Pre-order online is required. Ignore the notice "Your order will be ready for pickup Saturday after 2:00 PM" at checkout and in your confirmation email. Dinner pickup is Thursday 4-6PM. Currently, there is no way to designate an exact pickup time so you must arrive anytime between 4 and 6PM to pickup at Green Almond Pantry storefront. There is a phone number posted on the window near the entrance to call when you arrive. Entrance is not permitted. Someone will bring out your food packaged and bagged and place on the stools just outside the entrance. Then you will part ways with a wave.
  8. Delicious Carpaccio of beautiful Kohlrabi, Microgreens and Herbs included in my "Best of the Season" Home Delivery from The Chef's Garden. I added Ramp Mignonette and Celtic Salt to the Kohlrabi and let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes before I plated with Microgreens and Herbs.
  9. Delicious Dungeness Crab salad composed of Best of the Day Mixed Greens, Spinach, Lettuce, Asparagus, Summer Squash, Microgreens, Herbs and Flowers from The Chef's Garden. Before adding the Dungeness Crab, I topped the vegetable salad with Organic Lemon Juice and Zest.

Too beautiful to cook, so I enjoyed a few raw in a salad composed of Best of the Day Mixed Greens, Spinach, Lettuce, Summer Squash, Microgreens and Herbs + the second half of Green Almond Pantry's Branzino w/ Salsa Verde, Farro w/ Local Green Garlic and Local Asparagus+ finished w/ Organic Lemon Juice and Zest.

Delicious Spring nourishment composed of fresh farm vegetables (Mixed Greens + Spinach, Beet, Radish, Jerusalem Artichoke) from The Chef's Garden AND Farro + Walnut (w/ Vincotto, EVOO, Parsley, Mint, Salt, Pepper) and Cauliflower + Lentil (w/ Celery, Lemon, Pickled Mustard Seed, Parsley, Red Onion, EVOO, Salt, Pepper) Salads from Green Almond Pantry. To finish, I topped with Meyer Lemon Juice.
  12. Delicious salad composed of Spicy Soft Shell Crabs + Garlic/Charcoal Aioli from The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. Fresh Spinach + Mixed Greens, Candy Stripe + Gold Beets, Watermelon + Lime Green Radishes, Clearwater + Garnet Jerusalem Artichokes from The Chef's Garden. I added Organic Lemon Juice to the Vegetable Salad before topping with Spicy Soft Shell Crabs (which went under the broiler for the perfect crisp) + Garlic/Charcoal Aioli and finished with Organic Lemon Zest.
  13. Exquisite beauty, flavor and nourishment of farm fresh vegetables from The Chef's Garden is incomparable. This Alaskan Spot Prawn with Roe salad is composed of Best of the Day Spinach, Lettuce, Root Vegetables, Microgreens and Flowers. Also, fresh Avocado and broiled Organic Lemon slices.
  14. Best of the Day's Harvest Mixed Petite Radishes included in my "Immunity Booster" Home Delivery from The Chef's Garden. Served with Path Vally Farm Butter and Celtic Sea Salt. Impeccable quality, flavor and beauty.

My Sunday morning joy from SCRAPPY's Bagel Bar popup: B.C.T. is my favorite bagel sandwich elevated by Deb Rubba's Bacon Jam made with Nate Anda's Bacon from Red Apron, Cream Cheese and Heirloom Tomato from Root & Marrow Farm on a SCRAPPY's Smoked Salt Bagel. Insanely delicious beyond words. SCRAPPY's Pizza Bagel is my favorite bagel. Tomato sauce is perfection along with the chew on the bagel and provolone cheese. Just a dream!
  16. Saturday's pickup from Green Almond Pantry: Beautiful Whole Seasonal Tart w/ Local Eggs, Goat Cheese & Seasonal Vegetables of Asparagus and Leeks in Homemade Flaky Tart Shell. Delicious selection of 5 of the 10 heavenly salads (Spicy Cabbage, Roasted Mini Peppers, Beets, Smokey Eggplant, and Braised Cranberry Bean) plated on Cagla's hummus + crostini (featured instead of homemade crackers) from this week's Chef To-Go. I finished plating with sprinkles of Cagla's Farro and Walnut Salad. And beautiful Micro Herbs and Greens included in my "Best of the Season" home delivery from The Chef's Garden.

  18. Dinners are usually offered every week for pickup only on a Thursday or Friday. Dinner menu will rotate based on what inspires Chef Cagla Onal-Urel and dependent on the best product available and in season. In the past, she has offered her beautiful Turkish dinners for 2 as well as her Whole-Salt Baked Branzino Dinner for 2. I recommend following Green Almond Pantry's Instagram or Facebook stories for updates for what dinners will be offered and when. Saturday Chef Choice To-Go bag usually consists of 1 small bag of house-made crackers and 10 small containers of her vegetarian Mediterranean and Turkish salads/dip made fresh from impeccable seasonal produce. Chef Cagla is very particular of the quality of product and known by purveyors to turn subpar product away upon her inspection. Every week the salads rotate so they are made fresh for Saturday pick up. Green Almond Pantry started offering Saturday Chef Choice To-Go bags on April 11, 2020. Since then, Chef Cagla has been so thoughtful in varying the selection to minimize back to back repeats except her braised artichoke has been offered every Saturday which I am very grateful. Below is a photo that shows a sample of each salad from last Saturday's Chef Choice To-Go bag, plated as Green Almond Pantry's "little little in the middle." I believe the à la carte takeaway items can only be picked up either on the day of the weekly dinner(4-6PM) or Saturday (2-6PM). I will be picking up my whole Seasonal Tart on Saturday with my Chef Choice To-Go bag. Hi @DonRocks: For this week, there is no pick-up for Friday. From Green Almond Pantry's Instagram and Facebook stories, it appears orders are still being accepted for Saturday pick-up. What were you trying to order and not able to?

  20. Hi! I too had no idea I would enjoy them so much. I loved the Sapidus Farms Oysters. Taste of the sea with a beautiful sweetness.
  21. From last Saturday, beautiful Sapidus Farms Oysters w/ Ramp Mignonette (Keepwell Vinegar) that I shucked for the first time. I purchased my Oyster Oyster Shuck Kit for $36 online via Tock on Friday night at 8PM from SCRAPPY'S Bagel Bar Pop-up. On Saturday, I picked up at Estadio Restaurant. Included in the kit were 1 dozen Sapidus Farms Oysters, Ramp Mignonette, 1 Oyster Shucking Knife, 1 Kitchen Towel and 1 set of easy instructions to follow. I believe the kits will continue to be offered online at SCRAPPY'S. You can order Friday night starting at 8PM for Saturday pickup and order Saturday night starting at 8PM for Sunday pickup. The Spring Bialy, Pizza Bagel, Bagel Sandwiches and assortment of Bagels and Schmears are super tasty. I look forward to purchasing more oysters and sauce for future enjoyment.

  23. Playful, fun and insanely delicious ultimate Japanese comfort food from Nasime Japanese Restaurant. Panko Crusted Aji (Horse Mackerel) w/ Japanese Tartar Sauce on Rice with perfect accompaniments of Napolitan “Japanese Comfort” Spaghetti and Japanese Potato + Egg Salad. So good I want to have it again tonight!

  25. Last Summer, 4 lbs of Spot Prawns were a promotional gift with pay in full purchase so that's what got me to give Premium Sitka Seafood Share a try for the first time. Also, Spot Prawns were included in the December share. So lucky to have extra. Also, I'm NOT 100% satisfied with quality of Sitka Seafood. Price matches what you get though.
