Drinks for 6 Tonight

I just found out that five extended family members are in town and want to meet tonight for drinks around 8:30 PM. They're staying at the Hay-Adams Hotel. Any ideas about nearby places that we could go that would be interesting, comfortable for 6, and amenable for conversation?

The bar area at Adour is nice, but you can always have your drinks in their lobby. Great original architecture in the lobby. Original architecture on the ceilings in the bar.

Depends on your definition of nearby, but the lounge at the Tabard Inn would work.

The lounge at Vidalia is comfortable, but possibly too far. What about Equinox?

The Sofitel is not too far from Hay-Adams. Their bar, Le Bar, is quiet and cozy with lounge-y seating areas that would accomodate 6 people. Drinks aren't cheap but they are large, and the bar menu is quite good.

Whole heartedly agree with Mark's suggestion, another bar would be Town and Country at the Mayflower.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Turns out they wanted dinner, too, so we wound up at Potenza (a nice gnocchi, an odd Negroni), then four of us had drinks at the POV at the W Hotel afterward. Good times!
