Springsteen Tailgate

Heading to the Springsteen concert on Friday night at Nats stadium. Looking for someplace to tailgate or meet up with friends before the concert.

Have not been down there recently so not sure what options we have. Is the Bullpen still open? Can we tailgate in the parking lot?

We will be there. Usually, we park over by Barracks Row and meet/eat/drink there and walk or take the Circulator bus for $1 to the stadium. I have never parked in a stadium lot so I am not sure of their tolerance for tailgating. The tailgatecruiser offers some advice here.

The Bullpen, now known as the Fairgrounds, may be open Friday; the website is www.fairgroundsdc.com if you want to contact them. Justin's Cafe a few blocks away and they have happy hours. I also agree with dcs's strategy of visiting Barracks Row.

There is a concert (salsa) at Yards Park that night too, at 6:30.

FWIW I bought a t shirt at the Springsteen concert at D. C. Stadium (RFK) in the early 1980's. It sat in a drawer in a plastic bag for thirty or so years until a couple of weeks ago when I said to hell with it, and wore it one night while sitting on a bench and drinking a glass (s) of wine in our neighborhood. A couple of days later I washed it.

Several huge holes.

Moral to the story: if you buy a T shirt don't wait thirty years before wearing it.
