Percebes, aka, Pouce-Pieds, aka Goose Barnacles

Percebes are extremely expensive  - you can also find them in Bordeaux, where they're called "Pouce-Pieds." Also, you may not want to hear this, but they're farming them now in Oregon, and you can buy them by mail.

I've had them at SER in Ballston.  It's still on their menu, but I would call first and check on availability.

Right, I remember seeing them there, and also thinking that something was very wrong with that picture.

I first had pouce pieds in Paris 20 years ago and have searched for them ever since. Portugal and Spain have them in fish markets and restaurants especially in coastal restaurants . I had heard they were available by mail from Oregon but you would want them

fresh not frozen.
