Rieux
Hello all, I am having a James Bond themed birthday party next weekend and have decided to have some light food (not a full dinner, just some snacks). I'm planning on about 40-50 people, and have about $200 to spend. I figure I will buy some things at Costco (Hummus, Spinach dip, etc.) but want to get some food catered in. So far all I can think of are Whole Foods and Lebanese Taverna. Any other suggestions for good caterers for things like party platters, cut up wraps, preferably in DC? Greek Deli does some of my favorite catering, but I'm not sure if they do weekend stuff...the storefront is only open for lunch during the week. It also may be on the expensive side, but again I'm not sure.
synaesthesia
Maybe Moby Dick's. They've done stuff for our work and it was yummy. But I'd def pick Greek Deli over Moby Dick's.
jm chen
A couple years ago Julia's Empanadas was catering mini-empanada platters; not sure if they still do. But that could be tasty party food.
goldenticket
I think I've suggested them before in another thread, but the Mediterranean Bakery in Alexandria has some nice things. Their website isn't very helpful, but the menu is posted on Menupages and shows the price for items by the dozen. You might also check out this thread in Shopping and Cooking - it's all about party platters
alisa7
This is not very James Bond, but I had a Mexican themes party a while back, and used California Tortilla. They were great, and all I ordered which this huge delicious mexican salad, which was not expensive at all, and the added about 10 lbs of their chips and salsa, plates, forks, etc.
Rieux
Thanks to all! I have decided to go with some turkey wraps and shrimp from Costco, supplemented with kibbe and felafel from Lebanese Taverna. I'm also going to pick up big vats of hummous, bruschetta, etc. at costco. I'll let people know how it turns out.
