aspgirl99
Has anyone eaten at both Eddie V's Steakhouse in Tysons and J. Gilbert's in McLean? If so, which location has better food and which location has a better atmosphere for a romantic dinner? Any information is greatly appreciated! Mark Slater
Eddie V's is owned by Darden Restaurants ( Olive Garden, Capital Grille). Know that going in.

Ericandblueboy
I haven't been to J. Gilbert's in years. My office is on top of Eddie V so I was there just this past Friday. I would say Eddie V is a good restaurant - if you like the menu you will like the food.

Ferris Bueller
Romantic and J Gilberts do not go well together. Eddie V's has live music nightly and the food and service are very good. It can be a little loud, but if a special occasion, I think Eddie V's your choice. You probably want a table on the outer wall (glass) so you can watch the cars sitting in traffic (j/k) in Tysons and all the construction. It is a little farther away from the bar where the live music is, but you can still hear it no problem.
FranklinDubya
I've been to both a multiple times (J Glberts dozens of times as it was a typical family celebration spot growing up) although not super recently to either. This may come across as dumb or obvious but I'd say if you want steak go to Gilberts and if you want fish go to Eddie V's. J Gilberts I would say to me has superior alternate options than steak if you are so inclined but if you are at Eddie V's your best bet is definitely to get fish as a entree... I always found their fish to be quite good but everything else to be a bit lackluster.
