Oyamel is my go-to for brunch there: interesting drinks and dishes at a good price, and generally not too crowded. You don't need to order much to have a substantial meal.

Cedar was very nice last week.  The salmon benedict was great - the potato cakes had somewhat strong spices and of course the egg and salmon have strong flavors - overall, it was pretty intense.  The side of grilled bread and jam tastes of a charcoal grill and is a great deal at $2.50 (though it is still a side...)  We walked in, no reservations and disguised as tourists, and we were treated very nicely.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions and the menus. I consulted with my friend and I think we will try Oyamel for brunch. Its been a crappy year for me so all those interesting cocktails will be a necessity!!
