TinDC
My homemade BLT's never turn out so great. I recently had one at Kemble Park Tavern and I would NOT recommend it as an option. I am not sure what type of bacon they use (they may say it is homemade on the menu) but it is more like very salty, fatty ham. Not crisp at all and way too much of it. I was very disappointed that I didn't go with my first instinct and order the burger.
ulysses
Todd Thrasher makes a one helluva BLT at PX.
edenman
But I hear his Gin Ricky is, at best, second best (click through the slide show). In his defense, he was one of the judges of the competition, not a competitor As for the BLT, I have no idea. We used to do one with pork belly at Rustico, and that's the last one I can recall eating in years.
qwertyy
The avocado BLT at So's Your Mom in Adams Morgan always fixes me up just right.

DPop
Poste's Softshell Crab BLT is only available for one more week and is good enough to make time to get it before it is gone until next summer. A huge slice of beefsteak tomato, some microgreens, a very spicy (pleasantly) mayo, a healthy softshell and 4 strips of excellent bacon on two great slices of sunflower bread take this sandwich to different levels than other iterations I have had before, and I like them all. This coming from someone who doesn't like softshells, either. It is available for lunch RW, but it is not on the menu, so be sure to ask about it if you go. You will not be disappointed.
