Traveled to York, PA yesterday a town I've been to many times but got to see it through the eyes of a local filled with pride for her home town which made me see the magical side of this very special town. The day started at the Central Market where I was introduced to everything from pulled pork crepes to teff (an ancient grain) to craft beer to artisan baking to a burrito food truck INDOORS!!! All served with great pride and passion behind the making of these products. Then off to Otto's before this jewel closes, then off to Farm to Freezer (brilliant) and those delicious Thai food anywhere at District Thai!!!!! Checked all the galleries and shops in the Royal District even getting to meet some of the artists! And finished the day off at Collusion for a hand crafted beer and I was mesmerized by the canning machine at the bar waiting to fill a "Crowler" with your beer of choice! I left York already planning my next visit and greatly appreciating the time and talents of the artisans in York who take the time to put their love and pride in their craft and then make it accessible to so many!! York has a lot of magic to share with all of us!! Thank you to all and I look forward to seeing, eating and drinking more in the near future of what you have to offer very soon!! -Gloria

I wrote this up several weeks ago, but worth repeating. The Copper Crust Company is a god send to this carb addict. Its located right inside the Central Market in downtown York. The owners are originally from NY, city proper, I may add. They brought their skills to town. An everything bagel that a New Yawker would eat!! Although, I do believe the secret to NY bagels & pizza dough is the water. This should be on a list of MUST eat places while visiting the area, among many more. But rec needs to wait til my next review!! building suspense, kat

Ok. I'm resurrecting this thread and turning it serious because my folks live in Lancaster and I've eaten a couple of really nice places up that way with them. Most recently and most memorably was over the fourth of July weekend at the Bistro at the Netherlands Inn and Spa. We had a lovely dinner with cocktails and several glasses of wine, including salad and appetizers for three. The food was excellent. The space was lovely. The service was flawless. We had a lovely time and the restaurant easily rivalled far more expensive establishments in the Washington, DC area. I would happily go back there anytime.

Jeff Koons is a big-name artist: one of the most famous living artists in both America and the entire world. In fact, "Balloon Dog (Orange)" has established the record - which still stands - for "most money ever paid for an artwork by a living artist." On Nov 12, 2013, it sold for $58.4 million at a Christie's auction: "An Orange Balloon Dog Sold for $58.4M, So Here Are 10 Other Cool Jeff Koons Balloon Pieces" by Olivia B. Meet a Legendary Butcher I literally squealed like a Berkshire pig when I read this in my Instagram feed. Tickets are an incredible value starting at $27, and for $52 you can meet the infamous butcher. Caputo Brothers Creamery really nailed it. They are hosting the event. Mark your calendars for Jan 14th. This is a must for any gourmand. Hope to see you there! You know I got my ticket!! Food groupie, kat

I am dancing on the ceiling that this dinner is taking place in my city. I know my taste in wine tend to lean toward Old World, but I do enjoy wines produced by David Ramey. I recall having a chardonnay from Ramey wine cellars at Corduroy, and a few times since. This dinner is also an incredible value at $135. It will be 4 courses presented by the Chef which will highlight the best the region of South Central Pa has to offer. Dinner will take place on Tuesday, June 12 at 6:15. I don’t have details yet of the menu, but will inquire about them soon. I am so excited. Wine & Dining, katt

Tonight's meal was brought to you by the letter B as well as S. Bad service , boys & girls, cancels out a great meal everytime. I often equate it to a bad review. I could read 100 reviews ,but that one bad one will sit heavy with me. The Cove in York has one less patron. Let me start off with the good stuff, though. A bowl of cream of crab,by far is the best deal in town at $4.99. Large bits of backfin crab is abundant throughout the savory blend of cream& spices. I asked the surly bartender what he recommended as a restaurant fav, and the service staff jumped at the opportunity to reccomend the Cantina Nachos. The nachos can be topped off with an array of protein options. I chose the brisket. Wow , just wow. I was blown away when the dish was served. A long oblong plate stacked high with fatty goodness. Housemade chips piled high with beef brisket accented by an abundance of jalepenos, black beans, scallions, tomatoes, and gooey cheddar cheese. It would have been made a bit more perfect if a sprinkling of chopped cilantro made an appearance. But thats me.But my dear followers, thats where the perfection ended. I was really trying to give the bartender the benefit of my doubt, but he failed miserably. I watched him reach into a ice bin with a glass tumbler. Irresponsible. But more importantly , he didnt even bother to greet me once I sat down. Whats the average time a bartender greets a patron? He made eye contact, walked away from me to pour a glass of wine. Still no greeting& or acknowledgement. Not off to a good start. The service when downhill from there. Everytime I asked him a question, he acted indifferent,& bothered by my request. I wasn't his only victim of the evening. I watched him give bad service to just about anyone in listening range. I wanted to like this place, I really did, but bad service cancels out great food everytime. disappointed, kat
