  1. Noone ever talks about MontMarte on the Hill. Although I haven't been in quite some time, I think it's quite good.
  2. WiFi, Wine, and good people watching are indeed great at Tryst, but not necessarily unique to Tryst --- Good on them if they can create another cool place that brings all types together to imbibe, surf, and ogle!
  3. If you can find it, try Peter Rumball Sparkling Shiraz. Dry, light, with a nice long finish, lots of complexities...... must be very chilled, but perfect for a hot, humid summer day!
  4. Anyone try Sparkling Shiraz? It's quite fun for the summer -
  5. Try Pitchfork Pink Cabernet from Western Australia - it is available at Cleveland Park for $11.49!!!!!!! Rich color, long finish, beautiful wine!
  6. I was having this same conversation about modern art not too long ago. I was looking at a Rothko with a lawyer-friend of mine, and he asked "why?" - "why is this art, and why should I appreciate it?" And my explanation was that sometimes you can love a dish that has been meticulously prepared, lots of ingredients & spices, lots of sauce, lots of time - a complex masterpiece of a dish - and it will blow your mind away. OR you can pick a fresh tomato from the garden, slice it, drizzle a little balsamic, a little olive oil, maybe some salt and pepper - the most simple preparations - and it too, will blow your mind away. Modern art - and more specifically, Minimalism - is the latter. I don't think he got it - but that's ok. He's a lawyer.
