  1. His talent resides in more than just pastry, the dude can cook, too. He's been in NYC honing butchery skills off and on for the last little bit, in fact. This place is right down the street from where I take jiu jitsu, I'm definitely excited for it.
  2. Well, to be fair, Chicago has a functioning 24-hour public transportation system coming out of downtown. You don't really need a car there in the first place. Here we'll be lucky if the metro is still operating at all in 10 years.
  3. Better be careful! Lando might come in and beat us up simultaneously!
  4. What did you "like" on facebook? Honesty?
  5. I think mother nature's tears are actually part of the recipe, along with msg and sadness.
  6. I dare you to watch it and not smile. Go ahead, I'll wait.
  7. If that were the case, I doubt I could have phrased that without a plethora of profanity.
  8. There may or may not be a very exciting concept taking over in the revamped American Flatbread space.
  9. I love daywalkers! Either spit-roasted whole or braised, they're just so tender and flavorful! JimRice, your smelly face is inappropriate and divisive!
  10. Don wants us to support him by giving him stuff to do on the board, so I figure we can all post random things in this thread (after he moves it to the right forum ). I'll start.
  11. =/= culture. In fact I'd say it's a culture vaccuum. Unlike this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aMIC4yT_Ns
  12. Tragic, but not surprising. Restaurant owners and management have been able to get away with pilfering money out of their employees' pockets for too long. Fortunately now it's much rarer than it used to be, but those dishonest people and companies are being brought more and more to light in the internet age. If a company is screwing over their workers monetarily, it's just a matter of time before someone blows the whistle.
  13. Yup. Now I'm the guy saying not to trust the 2941 corporation. (The chefs are good guys, but upper management is straight slimy)
  14. If anyone is looking for a sous with a broad range of restaurant experience, including assisting in opening two critically-acclaimed restaurants (Pizzeria Orso and Trummer's on Main), feel free to PM me or e-mail me at sunderohnezugel@yahoo.com. I'm hardworking, honest, and fair, so I need those things from my employer in return.
  15. Say hi next time. :-) Thanks for the feedback. We're still getting our feet under us for the time being, but if you stick around you might be pleasantly surprised. The pizze are not changing, but we'll be doing some killer new stuff before and after them (in terms of meal progression).
