Thai Food for Vegans

So, once all my extended family found out about the fish sauce, Thai food wasn't really vegetarian to them any more... I have some family coming into town. Do you know have any vegan friend Thai restaurants in DC or VA? Thanks in advance.

Thai X-ing? They serve vegetarian or vegetarian with a fish option on Sundays and Tuesday. The website says that most dishes are vegan and it may be worth calling and asking for a vegan menu.

Hmm. That looks really good, haven't been there in years. We only have Fri and Sat night... I've emailed them to see if they can do something.

Usually when we go out to Thai we ask for sauces without the fish sauce and most places are happy to adjust. Is definitely is an issue for most pure vegetarians.

i have the same issue and most places will make things without fish sauce for me. i actually haven't been out for thai in a while, but some places i know have done it in the past are kao thai, thaiphoon,rice, and bangkok 54.sadly little serow will NOT do things without fish sauce (or fish for that matter) so don't take them there.   thip khao (not thai i know, but if they like thai, they'll probably like this too, and it's a little more unusual) specifically says they can make things vegan.

Places will make things without fish sauce *and* you can substitute tofu for meat in almost all curries that are freshly made.
