Springfield is casual, whereas Palisades and McLean have clearly seen some money pumped into the decor. (Disclaimer: I haven't been to either Springfield or Palisades since McLean opened, so there may be some internal shuffling of the staff - see third sentence above.) I wouldn't be surprised if BA is the best restaurant in McLean (I only frequent Palisades), but have you been to the (very small) Fahrenheit for Sichuan? Just had an excellent meal there. Ericandblueboy
Fahrenheit McLean is a decent home cooking restaurant. Nothing rave worthy. ETA: Very limited menu. I've gone there a few times since I live in McLean. Wouldn't recommend to anyone other than people who live nearby (because McLean's Chinese food scene is horrendous). A decent (or, in this case, very good) home-cooking restaurant is worth celebrating and flagging, even if "rave" would be too strong.
deangold
I went once. Nice enough food but I am not a fan of hot pots that come with all ingredients put in the pot. I prefer to add my ingredients one or two at a time. The service was jarringly bad, so much so that I did not even finish my meal. I did contact them but they cut off replying to me without resolving my issues.

The hotpot is not the thing to get here (even though most do). The "specials" listed on the board are where it's at.
deangold
I had one dish and a hot pot and I would agree. On the other hand, I won't be back.
Scott Johnston
Monday’s have housemate wontons, either in a spicy sauce or as a soup. The spicy beef soup at a three and the house made pot stickers are some of our boots here. The twice cook pork belly with leeks was fantastic last week. Ericandblueboy
Fahrenheit in McLean is doing sidewalk pick-up. When you arrive, you call them, then they bring your food out and place it on a table set up on the sidewalk. Works well for people who can read instructions. There’s a sign that says stay away from the door but some people still try to enter the restaurant. 🤫 Mapo tofu was quite spicy and lacked complexity in flavor. The kung pao chicken was noticeably sweet. The stir fried bok choy was simple but well prepared.
Ericandblueboy
Fahrenheit is the only Chinese joint that I know of with patio service - so I had brunch there. They were out of every beer other than Blue Moon. But if you want to dine-out for Chinese on premises, you have at least one option.
Ericandblueboy
Some prices make my eyes pop. $22 for Beef & Broccoli, Mongolian Beef. $23 for Beef Chow Fun. $20 for Chicken Chow Fun. If their cooking is super delicious then I think the premium is justifiable, but I don't think their cooking is.
