  1. I think creating a different crust and perhaps folding in some type of liqueur into the sour cream topping will add some pazzaz.( I would suggest using creme fraiche) Construct the crust by adding the following into a food processor:1/2 bag of Skor toffee bits, toasted pecans, 1/4 tsp cinnamon,8- 10 shortbread cookies, and 2 tsb butter. Press into springform pan- bake 10-15 min until golden brown- let set for 30 min. Add cheesecake recipe- follow your recipe - then fold 1 tsb of amaretto or liqueur of your choice to sour cream/ creme fraiche topping. Once cheesecake is set spinkle toffee and chopped toasted pecans around the sides of the cheese cake. whatever you choose- Good luck-
  2. Such a warm reception from everyone. Thank you- In the short time I have been in the city I have received nothing but the kindest words from all that I have met. I was very fortunate to win the lottery for the Dec 5th dinner and am looking forward to meeting many others. Chin Chin
  3. I know your request was for crabcakes- but this restaurant is worth the trip. Visit Joy America Cafe- its in Federal Hill- south inner harbor-. They are opened for Lunch. Plus if you have some time to spare you can check out the musuem. PM me for more details. A few details of th restaurant- chef owned, seasonal Pan- Latin cuisine, table-side guacamole with house made tortilla and plantain chips. I used to work there and always tried to make time to have a bite to eat there.
  4. has anyone made a visit to Oya? I checked out the site- The meunu sounds incredible and the images of the restaurant quite seductive. Dinner could be a little pricey- but they do offer a "sunset menu" that is more reasonable for a midweek whim-That menu is offered between 5:30- 7. Anyone interested in joining me- let me know
  5. I will be attending the wine event hosted by National Geographic Society. I am very much in the infant stages of learning about wine, what better way to start then attending an event hosted by someone so informed. I would like to know if anyone here will attending it as well- perhaps we could chitchat at the event- and I may not feel so lost. anyone interested in joining me feel free to PM-
  6. First Post ever.... Hello to all. A brief introduction- I'm Kathryn Hull- recent addition to the staff at Corduroy. I am interested in learning more about this city through other people that work at other restaurants. A " dining tour guide " of sorts, I am in search for- the more the merrier. Anyone interested in filling this position or at least giving me some direction is well appreciated. It seems that HH at FF is the place to go to get started- but any other suggestions I would love as well.
