  1. Visiting Dallas/Fort Worth next month and wanted to get your opinions on the following places: Casa Rubia FT33 The Mansion Restaurant on Turtle Creek Stampede 66 CBD Provisions Smoke Mostly "hot spots" that have received some form of critical acclaim. We're merely tourists, so I want to hit the cream of the crop. For Fort Worth: Rodeo Goat Lonesome Dove Bistro Woodshed Smokehouse Revolver Taco Lounge Lanny's Alta Cocina Mexicana Thanks for any advice in advance!
  2. Don, I had a great meal at WK a few weeks ago - my first experience there. It was a server/chef curated impromptu tasting. They even allowed half portions of a lot of things. Standouts for me included raw oysters; swordfish served over a summer succotash; and a grilled tomato, fresh mozz served alongside grilled bread and rapini pesto. It was a meal that really set the standard for the rest of my trip, which later became a disaster due to some virus that I picked up along the way. I would be devastated if I went back and had a less than satisfactory meal.
  3. Is anyone going to the Cook It Raw BBQ event in late October? The list of chefs in attendance is staggering.
  4. Don, I'm doing Woodberry for dinner en route to Philly - do you think their brunch outshines dinner? Hell, I may even do both if the dinner is really THAT good.
  5. Thanks! Ramen and gyoza can be pretty gut-busting, so I will proceed with caution, haha. The following day (Saturday), I am doing brunch at either Range or VOLT; leaning towards VOLT since I had such a stellar meal there last visit. Both will be en route on my return to Kentucky.
  6. Good morning, I will be traveling from Philly to DC next week and find myself struggling with lunch options along the way to my hotel in Woodley Park. Pretty much open to anything in the Maryland burbs or northwestern DC. So far, I am looking at Ruan Thai, Ren's Ramen, Nava Thai, Range, 2Amy's. Budget isn't really a concern, but I will probably hit multiple spots if I go to inexpensive options in Wheaton. Any feedback is appreciated - thank you!
  7. I hope to be visiting this spot at the end of the month - I'll report back, but I'm willing to bet that the pizza will be delicious. I will note that the lack of pasta is alarming, and may still make Osteria an overall better spot.
  8. Hello everyone! I'm Corey, and I live in central Kentucky. I find myself going on food trips quite a few times per year - DC being a frequent destination! Hopefully, I can help fill in the blanks on the other areas I visit, as well as contribute here whenever I can. Favorite restaurants in DC: Sushi Taro, Rogue 24. Since I'm not local, I tend to go for the destination-type dining spots. Thanks for listening!
