DanCole42
Having dinner with a friend in the Dupont area tonight (or someplace nearby with easy park-ability - no desire to walk anywhere in this heat). She has given me the following criteria, which I will now run through the hyperaccurate Help Need filter: No burgers In DC Nothing fancy Nothing vegetarian Nothing "crazy with ingredients" Keep it simple Our last dinner together was Kababji, which did fit all above criteria. goodeats
Nando's? I'm also thinking Urbana, Firefly or Scion, but having never been to kababji, I gather still on the pricey side when compared. Nooshi? Bread & Brew (there's a pub down there to hang out)? Pizzeria Paradiso?

Bread & Brew (there's a pub down there to hang out)? Pizzeria Paradiso? I also thought of Paradiso and Urbana, and Bread & Brew isn't a bad idea either. I guess my brain kind of defaulted to "pizza" since Urbana does happy-hour pricing on their pizzas in the bar. What about Ezme? Or would that be too crazy on the ingredient side? DanCole42
I should also add that it shouldn't be too crowded / loud. The phrase "hottest bar scene" is like a red flag on Urbana's website.
stickmoon
I think Firefly would be a good choice.
DanCole42
I think Firefly would be a good choice. Might be too fancy.
Keithstg
If Firefly is too fancy, perhaps Famous Luigi's? I realize I will lose points for this suggestion, but if Firefly is too fancy, and Urbana might be too loud, Paradiso might be too loud as well. Seems like your friend might like a decent red sauce place...
Rovers2000
Donovan Darlington House would fit the bill I think. Edited July 7, 2010 by Rovers2000

ktmoomau
I was thinking Coppi's but I don't think there is parking very close... What about Hanks? I guess it gets noisy.
leleboo
Darlington House would fit the bill I think. This is good because it has options: main dining room, and pub downstairs.
Mrs. B
Does Greek food qualify as "crazy ingredients"? If not then I vote for Zorba's.
DanCole42
What about Ezme? Or would that be too crazy on the ingredient side? Ezme worked perfectly, thank you.
