chiclet
I’m looking for a place to take my parents for a belated thanksgiving meal. Mom would love to go somewhere “cozy with a fireplace”. Something along the lines of 1789 would be perfect but it’s out (they were just there). Thoughts? Thanks, Carrie
nashman1975
Al Tiramisu is a fav of mine, downstairs, cozy, fireplace...not sure if that is cuisine you are looking for.
rbh
Tabard Inn is cozy and has a fireplace in the lounge.
smiller
La Chamiere is very cozy with a fireplace. Palena's back room is very cozy minus the fireplace-- the food definitely makes up for lack of a fireplace.
Ferhat Yalcin
go to Restaurant Eve , ask for the table in front of the fire place or near it. You`ll be very happy
TimmySmith
There is probably not a more cozy restaurant with a fireplace in DC than the Iron Gate Inn. I wish I could say the food was great, but it certainly gets a 10 in the ambiance department.
Audrey2025
I wholeheartedly second La Chaumiere. It is quite warm and cozy, and has a bit of an old-world feel to it.
Mark Slater
I wholeheartedly second La Chaumiere. It is quite warm and cozy, and has a bit of an old-world feel to it. I just had a delicious lunch there, and also recommend it. Anyone want to take a wild guess what "La Chaumiere" means in French?

It means you get dunked on by Kobe "Not Wagyu" Bryant. L.A. Show me air, get it? The only thing I've ever dunked is a donut, Rocks.

Notwithstanding DonRocks' quippage -- it really means cottage. One of my favorite places in the world was a truck stop up in the French Jura outside of Geneva -- also called La Chaumiere. Twas the scene of much merriment in the days of my misspent youth.
cf75
I love Restaurant Eve's fireplace - and Iron Gate Inn is a classic. The new Tasting Room at BlackSalt has a very cozy banquette right next to a stretched out fireplace.
