  1. That was a good link as it explained the meaning of high tea. I misused it in the original question.
  2. I need a recommendation for a place to take someone who has never been to Tea before. I've been to the Hay Adams and liked it. Any other recomendations?
  3. 2007 Domaine de Villargeau, Coteaux du Giennois. Perfect on a warm evening.
  4. I am looking for a good Tepanyaki Restaurant. We live in Arlington but are willing to go to DC or Maryland for the best Tepanyaki. Any suggestions?
  5. I stopped by today after hitting the Farmers' market. Took the calculated risk of taking my Margherita home and it held up quite well. The crust was still pretty crispy by the time I got home. Enzo and Anastasiya were really friendly.
  6. Was it Petrozza who was the misogynist? I thought it was the bald guy who got kicked off early in the season.
  7. 2000 Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny, smooth with amazing fruit--a perfect accompaniment to roast chicken with morel sauce.
  8. She was a lovely person who will be missed.
  9. Last night at Citronelle: 2004 Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet "Boudriottes" 1er Cru. Very vibrant with notes of honey, pears, juniper and peppermint with a hint of chocolate. Delicious.
  10. I found fresh porcini at the Dupont Market this morning. They were $15 per container (about 1/4 pound). She had a pretty decent supply. They were not as pristine as if you found them yourself in the woods but were relatively fresh. I've bought them from her at this stage before and they cook up just fine.
  11. We're going to Helsinki, St. Petersburg and Moscow in July. Any recommendations on food, lodging, etc.?
  12. Marc Angeli Rosé d'un Jour. 2002 per the cork.
  13. I agree about Viet Huong. I've been there on several occasions and had the spring rolls and the Pho and really enjoyed it. This weekend we tried the Special Hue Spicy Soup and the Caramel Jumbo Shrimp with Rice. They were both great, especially the Shrimp. Only the shredded pork rolls disappointed us, but that was probably because we didn't really know what they were and were surprised that they were served cold.
  14. I bought a bottle of this wine just yesterday to give to my sister-in-law for her 50th birthday. I have six in my cellar already, but I'm not sharing.
  15. 2006 Domaine Geoffrenet-Morval Chateaumeillant "Extra-Version"
  16. I like it. Maybe I misunderstood the thread. It really was what I was drinking then, not a special bottle that I had saved to open on a special day. Even so, I like Marcillac and Phillipe Teulier of Domaine du Cros is a very good producer. It's imported by Ed Addiss.
  17. 2006 Domaine du Cros, Marcillac, Lo Sang del Pais.
  18. You can also buy them online at Aux Delices des Bois several times a year.
  19. Not sure how big a sack you are looking for, but I bought a one pound bag of certified Louisiana crawfish at the Arlington Whole Foods about two weeks ago. They were frozen, not fresh.
  20. I struck up a friendship with the produce manager at D & D a couple of years ago and asked him to call me when they came in. It worked until he left. Also, Ferielle the mushroom lady at the Arlington and Dupont farmers' markets gets them on occasion. Not the quality you get in France or Italy, but cepes just the same. Hideously expensive wherever you find them.
