DonRocks
These past years have been very difficult for a lot of people, having taken their toll, grinding, wearing away. Many of you are unhappy, for many reasons, but I'm going to offer you a word of hope: There are very few of us who are so destitute that they do not have shelter, very few that don't have access to heat, or clean water, or food. There are very few of us who are so injured that they are in constant pain, pain without relief, without a foreseeable end. There are very few of us who are so lonely, so truly alone, that they have no one to call, no one they can turn to in a time of need. We have all suffered during these past few years, and many of us do not care about the end of 2011, or the beginning of 2012 because nothing, so it seems, will change. And be assured that nothing around you will change, not in any meaningful way - but nothing needs to change. Take inventory of yourself, right this moment. When you finish reading this message, turn away from the screen, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and ask yourself: what is there about this second, this one moment in time, that is so terribly bad? For the vast majority of us, the answer is: nothing. We are victims of our own minds, held under water, unable to breathe, by a weight of our own doing. It is time now to come up for air, to breathe, to briefly look inward, and then to open your eyes and look outward. There is beauty everywhere, friendship all around you, and life can and will be wonderful once again. But, only if you free yourselves from the invisible, weightless burdens that have needlessly made you so unhappy. It's time to come out now. You would be wrong to wait until, or depend upon, the stroke of midnight. In less than one minute, regardless of what hour, or what day, or what year you read this message, you have the power within you to make all the fundamental changes you need for a lifetime of happiness. The one word you need to absorb, to live by, and to exude, for your personal well-being in 2012 and beyond: Liberation. Cheers, Rocks

Ilaine
Beautiful. I would add one more word, personally, and that is gratitude. I find it makes all the difference, and the ability to be grateful is what frees my mind.
The Hersch
This may seem trivial to some, or annoying, or foolish, or beside the point, but the one word I would add is: Dog. I know that dogs are not for everyone, but those of us with dogs in our lives--well, we may have problems, but loneliness is never one of them.
