zoramargolis
I entered my brown butter pecan shortbread cookie recipe in the 2013 Los Angeles Times Annual Cookie Bake-Off. Out of 250 entries, mine was selected to be in the Top Ten. The recipe appeared in today's Times. (December 21, 2013)crunch!

thistle
That looks delicious-but I have to use almonds, because I have a ton of them (I was going to say 'buttload', but thought that would be crass)-I think they will be awesome- thanks, Zora (must feel nice to beat out so many other recipes). Barbara
I'm far more likely to make these because they don't require rolling out and cutting. I'm really bad at the rolling part. They sound just delicious!
Pat
Taking over the world, one newspaper-winning recipe at a time! Congratulations. These look great. I still haven't baked any Christmas cookies. These are now in contention.
Sundae in the Park
Ooooh congrats!! Sounds like a great combination. Maybe I can convince the resident baker to give them a try...

zoramargolis
Brava! When can I pick up mine? I haven't made any yet this year! Maybe I'll find some time to make some for K--she'll be here for Christmas and they are her favorite cookie of all time.

johnb
I'm with my daughter now; she used the BBQ sauce recipe for a party she threw recently. I told her about this latest feather in Zora's cap, and her response was "when will she publish a cookbook?"

zoramargolis
I actually made a batch of these cookies for the first time in about three years. Made the dough logs yesterday, and sliced and baked 13 cookies from one of the two logs today. If I do say so meself, them are mighty tasty cookies!
