  1. Does anyone know when the JINYA Ramen Bar will be opening? They are shown on the Mosaic Center map, but I can't find anything else relating to this new location. Here's the Mosaic portion of their website.
  2. We grilled halloumi and then served it on whole-wheat tortillas with a green pea/avocado puree and marinated cherry tomatoes. Super easy and very delicious, the sweet peas balanced the salty cheese very well. Had some leftover puree, so I took an English muffin, put 2 slices of ham and Muenster cheese on it, paninied the sandwich, then opened it and added the puree and some sprouts for breakfast. Pretty sure I'll be having that again tomorrow morning.
  3. Some friends and I went about 2 months ago and enjoyed it. Based on recommendations, we had the smothered tater tots for an appetizer and loved them. The tiger vine sushi was on the happy hour specials menu, so we tried that and really enjoyed it and the mango sauce that was served with it. For the ramen, we pretty much sampled them all. I had the Tonkatsu and my husband had the Kizuna. His looked good, but the servings were so generous that I was glad I did not have the additional toppings. Others at the table tried these as well as the Miso and Shio ramen. I think my friend may not try the Miso ramen next time, but everyone seemed to be very happy with their choices. I recommended it to a friend who works in Tysons and he has since been at least twice and enjoyed it. I think it goes without saying, but if you have issues with high blood pressure, you probably should not be visiting a ramen restaurant.
  4. I went in a group of 7 on Monday night after seeing this thread. I got the last pork tamale of the day and cod croquettes. The tamale was delicious as were the croquettes, once I let them cool a bit. The others in our party tried the salad, pork & chicken tamales and fish&chips. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the owner is wonderful and very friendly. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.
  5. I created a spreadsheet to track them and it dates back to 2008 but I may have missed some. Our current total is 341 dinners and I have about 25 restaurants that look like they would be interesting to visit in the future.
  6. My friends and I just visited Kung Fu Tea this past Monday and really enjoyed the selection. In particular, one friend got milk tea and was very happy to have the 50% sugar option as she said milk teas are normally a bit too sweet for her taste. Here in DC, I've been visiting the Bubble Tea Licious food truck when it is in the area and enjoying the Thai Tea bubble tea.
  7. Hi all, My name's Katie and I work in DC. My friends and I have a Monday night dinner group and like to explore the various restaurants in the area, primarily in MoCo and NoVA. At present, we've visited 183, some are once and done while others have become favorites that we keep going back to. I'm always looking for new restaurants to try and stumbled across this community. Hope to learn more and possibly share some knowledge based on my experiences.
