When they called to confirm my reservation I asked about reserving a callete cut. They were absolutely so nice and put one away for me. Michael even came out when it was served to be sure it was perfect and it was. When you get this cut, do not get it more than medium rare. This is the most tender flavorful steak I have ever had. I am not really a regular (I have been coming in once or twice a month - maybe a semi regular?) and when I come in to the restaurant, everyone on the staff recognizes me and says "hello, welcome back, glad you came in tonight" They really make me feel welcomed. In addition to having great food at a great price the service and personality is why this one of my favorite restaurants. For those starting the DR diet challenge - RTC is the perfect place to be on low carb.

I have an 8:30 reservation Saturday night, I guess no Callette for me. I will have to make do with a cowboy or a hangar.

Don - Thank You for creating this commmunity. Hillvalley, Crackers and Mktye - Without you three supporting and helping there would be no community. Thank you for the special dinners, $20 Tuesday and the on a whim HH. This is one of the best places to go when I am having a day and can need a smile or laugh on my face. The friends I have made through this group is worth much more than you would ever believe a website in cyberspace could be. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanza, Merry Festivas or whichever your holiday celebrations are - Happy and Healthy New Year in 2007 (Don - I think you should leave this up for a few days)

I had a bite of xcanuck's callette last night. This bite of meat put the biggest smile on my face. Tender and full of flavor like nothing else. Not that my hangar steak which was ordered without really looking at the menu was any slouch either. When you go in look over the new additions. I will have to stop in next week just for one of these cuts. The starters have been changed a little with some of our old friends gone. I was really disapponted to see the chopped liver off menu. Hopefully this will be back. There is a new side of grilled red onions. I did not get to taste these, but they were ordered by Lisa and they seemed to be perfect company for the steaks.

Cow is sounding really good for dinner - and yes when it tastes like that it is sacred.Anyone going to HH at RTC tonight - I just started a low carb diet (just booked a warm trip for February so I now have to be in a bathing suit in seven weeks) Hanger steak will become our friend.

Yesterday and today, I had to resign in. When I typed the first letter of my name the rest of my name popped up but I had to "prompt" the computer for who I was. -
I asked as soon as I heard she left and since I had not heard I will ask again - Does anyone know where she went? If you do not want to post publicly please pm me.Does this make me a food stalker?

For some reason in this case I am thinking there is more to this than we are hearing.

I have been seated in both sneakers and jeans and suite and tie at different times. I had excellent service regardless of my clothes.I agree that courteous treatment goes both ways.

I am not going to be able to make it tonight. I just got stuck in the office.

This looks like a delivered version of Let's dish or these new places that seem to be popping up. Has anyone tried any of them yet?

I picked some Chanterelle's for a Thanksgiving receipe. I have never used these before. Planning to mix everything together Wednesday night to be heated on Friday. Should I just store them in a brown bag in a pantry away from moisture or is it better to refrigerate? Not a lifeending question, but would like these to have a nice flavor. Thanks.

Weight watchers works. I am a lifetime member, that means I lost my weight got to my goal and kept it off for at least three months.Yes. I have since gained it back, but I too need to drop about forty pounds. I keep promising myself I need to get serious. After my doctors warning last month, I need to get real about it too.

Took a friend for a birthday lunch yesterday. Had the seafood bisque; I felt it could have used a little more heat (both temp and flavor), it did have a lot of cream. The fried squid (calamari) was perfect. I have not had this done so perfectly in a very long time. We also shared the duck quesadilla. This was excellent. We did not mention a birthday celebration and skipped dessert in the interest of calories and did not want to leave stuffed since we needed to go back to work. Service was imperfect but adequate. Nothing was especially terrible, but one issue was not handled correctly but I chose not to make an issue since I was with a friend. In a week or two I will post a "How should this have been handled question" not specifically to Blacks since this could have happened anywhere and they should not be slammed for it, but I am not sure of what they should have done. Bottom line - Food very good *** stars, service weak *1/2 stars. - Definitely a keeper.

Did you ever find a great recipe for the stuffing. I have my contributions pretty much covered except for a good side "bread stuffing".I am already bringing Crab Dip Mini pigs in a blanket Asparagus cassarole Fruit Pie - Exactly what will depend on Dupont next Sunday Chocolate Pie I said something about bread based stuffing (bread crumbs, matzah meal. etc) but I have never done this before. I can remember my grandmothers being great many years ago, but her recipe has been lost over time - HELP

I cannot believe a pizza place does not open for lunch. Now you know why dinner is so expensive, they are trying to get two meals of revenue in one.

They are on the menu. They made a new bread section on the menu and moved it from appetizers. The desserts are rotated frequently. I am sure the chocolate cake will be back.

Just a note from the Montgomery County side. There is a Benihana in Bethesda too. Went once with a large group, it was okay not memorable good or bad. Could be entertaining for the kids. There is a japanese steakhouse right outside the Rio shopping center off 370 [This is probably Ziki Steakhouse. DR]. Never been nor have I heard anything good or bad, but there is one in Gaithersburg. Let me know if anyone has been.
