  1. All I will say is this, noone pushed him out, other things in his life were at hand, those things were more important. I understand this. I am simply stating, noone was under the impression he was to leave, and ashok certainly didn't try to waiver his "vision". END OF STORY
  2. For the record, Ashok had nothing to do with the departure of Mathew, he was just as suprised as the rest of us. Mathew had some things he had to work out on his own time, he was given the golden ticket to do whatever he wanted in the kitchen. The balme lies nowhere, sometimes life gets in the way ya know? S.

Please have knowledge of food and wine, and experience is a must. Closed on Sundays and Saturday lunch. 4. with a heavy heart, Saturday will be my last day at Komi (it's also my birthday). For the record, this is not going to be easy. I am leaving my closest friend and the most talented chef I know. Johnny and I have worked together for as long as I have been in DC. He was a line cook and I a server. That being said, I want to focus my career on wine and have been offered a chance to do so. Komi is and always will be an amazing and special place, maybe now I'll get the chance to enjoy eating there!! There is no bad blood or ill will between the two of us. Just sad to let each other go. Anyhow, I could ramble on for a while but I am not gonna. That's all I got, Sebastian Z. over and out
  5. for my first time here I will chime in. Grogg and Tankard northern Georgetown, across from the Whole Foods...Awesome. My band played so many crappy gigs there in highschool, I remember half. Townhouse...a mere few blocks from my lovely establishment, 17th and R st. Best Juke box in the city, more Smiths Joy Division and Cure than you could slit your wrists to. These are my votes, but shy very far away from the food. Cheers big ears!!!
