  1. Yeah, but others aren't as reasonable. I want to give him a chance to be on the job for a week before getting in trouble for fraternizing.
  2. Sorry, not this time. We will be at Tonic at 7:30 with a host from a different forum, if anyone would like to stop by for a drink. We have a 10pm show afterwards so won't be hanging around all night.
  3. Oh that's too bad. When I worked at the Kennedy Center I would walk over there about once a week. Always got the one with onions, mushrooms and A-1 sauce and ate it while walking back. I ruined several good shirts that way.
  4. See, the bun is where most places drop the ball. Almost always it overwhelms the meat.
  5. Yeah! Wait, I thought you said groper.
  6. Les Halles gets a thumbs down from me. Palena's are OK. The fried lemons are far better than the fries. Firefly's fries are excellent. Of course, my favorites are those made at home. Getting Scott a fryer for Father's Day 2 years ago was an excellent decision on my part.
  7. A little shop in Rockville called Temptations. They make their own ice cream and charge half as much as Ben & Jerry's.
  8. It is the late show. Scott's plane doesn't get into Dulles until 5 though.
  9. Sorry, 9:30 club that night. Next week?
  10. Scott is away on business until Friday afternoon, so no HH for me.
  11. Where exactly? There's a pho place in the Ritchie Center 1/2 mile from my house, but we always go a little further up the Pike to Pho 75. They have better broth.
  12. I posted on eG 3/25/2004: Seen in the Montgomery County edition of The Guide to Montgomery County, Thursday April 22, 2004: As I said back then, seems someone at the Post had been reading eGullet. Since the only development in Rockville is strip malls, avoiding strip mall dining here is nearly impossible.
  13. It's true. They even let me in and I do absolutely nothing of interest! Barbara, I'm bringing a box of wine just for you, and some jelly jars to drink it from.
  14. Feel free to toss my 3-year-old around. He loves it.
  15. We'll bring almond/orange oatmeal cookies and a salad.
  16. Boys in bikinis Girls in surfboards Everybody's rockin' Everybody's fruggin' Twistin' 'round the fire Havin' fun Bakin' potatoes Bakin' in the sun
  17. Spotted some at the Dupont market yesterday. $20 for a basket. Looked very good, but too rich for my budget.
  18. I got asparagus, mache (last week for mache), mesclun, radishes, eggs, italian sausages, bread, peach blossom honey, garlic stalks, assorted mushrooms, and bread. Not a bad haul but the good stuff is definitely yet to come. hillvalley, what time were you there? I got there right at 9.
  19. We'll be there with the kids. I'm sure we'll bring wine, and maybe a salad.
  20. Whoa. Thanks for the report. We'll stick with Bombay Bistro, thanks.(which is only a short drive from your office, Joe, and has an awesome lunch buffet).
  21. Yeah, but it's cash only. Nice to see you here.
