  1. In my opinion Passage is the best Indian Kitchen in the area. Chef/ Owner Seth is extremely talented and I applaud him for presenting the selection that he does on his menu. I can assure you that a similar selection would be difficult to find, on a single, menu even in some of the best establishments in India. Do I like everything on the menu ? No, but that's my personal taste, not because it has not been 'authentically' prepared. Spicy is not neccessarily hot, it's well seasoned but not overwhelming in heat. Indian cuisine generally has no standard recipes, there are regional nuances, blending more into each other as the world gets smaller, almost everyone has their own personal spice blend or take on every facet of cooking and there are a billion of them over there! No wonder it is confusing. It appears Don is cooking up something at The Passage, if so please sign me up.
  2. The shop in Clarendon, at the corner of Wilson & Highland, next to Hard Times is called CLASSIC CIGARS & BRITISH GOODIES and does carry a good selection of tinned and frozen goods and candy.
  3. Oh, got to go back, they have really great food. The service used to fall apart if they got too busy but the food was excellent. The lunch special at five bucks was a steal, if they still have it.

No matter what the quality of the content, from a restaurant's point of view it does bring in people ( besides having a pestegious looking plaque to hang in your window as a trophy). I called them once and learnt that for a restaurant to make the list it must have at least 30 votes or something like that. So here is an appeal to all you folks who like Bombay Curry company in Alexandria, to please, please vote for us. If you do not find a restaurant on the list, remember you can add it in yourself. Thank you. PS: A restaurant that I dont think has even opened yet is on the list ! A complimentary dinner for two at the Bombay Curry Company to the first person who posts the name on this thread. Hint hint...its in the arlington or clarendon neighborhood.
  5. Mark your calanders Dec 19th, Bombay Curry Company shall donate 50% of all sales that day to the Animal Wefare League Of Alexandria. So, take a break from your seasonal shopping and help the wonderful folks at the shelter. See you there. bhasin

  7. What I thought from the mentions in the local media was that the place was to focus on Tawa Cooking ( which is a kind of griddle cooking, think of the monogilian grill) and ' Sigri' cooking ( which is grilling skewered meats, vegs etc on an open charcoal grill)
