shogun
Anybody have any thought on (and ideally recommendations for) single bottle wine chillers? I'm thinking about getting one for my dad for Christmas. Maybe it'll stop him putting ice in his Pinot Gris. One can hope, anyway. Anybody know of any good ones? Are they totally useless? Thanks! shogun
These things work well. heh, come to think of it, I think they have one of those for the beach...
Sthitch
These things work well. I use them quite often, they quickly bring a chill to a bottle (takes about 10 minutes). I also like to use it to drop the temperature of a bottle of red (about 3 minutes on a bottle of red is enough).
laniloa
Today at Target I noticed that they now carry the neoprene wine totes for their box wine. I bet that's what your dad wishes he got for Christmas.

Stretch
Wowee! And there I thought "collaborative winemaking tools" were just another bunch of Helen Turley fans.
CrescentFresh
I like the futuristic look of it. It really brings the room together sitting there in that alcove next to the orgasmatron.
hillvalley
I know what I am getting Rocks for his birthday. Shhhhhh, don't tell.
Escoffier
An interesting concept, but does it really make (real) wine? and what is the cost per 55 gallon oak barrel? and how many times would you have to make wine in this thing before that 55 gallon barrel was full? Meaghan
Well, the answer is to commit suicide. Who cares if it works! If you take all the beauty out of winemaking (uh, the earth, perhaps), it just sucks! And that's before even drinking it. But I will come back to say that I am fond of the touting at the bottom of their webpage: "WinePod personal wineryâ„¢ Web-enabled, state-of-the-art winery for your home or office" For my office? REEEEAAALLY? For what office? Is this in Enron's code of ethics? Edited February 24, 2006 by Meaghan
jparrott
Josko Gravner is the lead investor in this firm. He's using it as a way to throw his competitors off the scent whilst he develops a technique even more primitive than buried amphorae for his own elevage. Ohh come on... just think... I can program a Ricardo Coltarella 95 point Parker score and not have to buy any of the 25 merlots he consults on! Just think of the reduced inventory I will have to carry. Crap... I don't carry ANY Riccardo Coltarella merlot's!
jparrott
Man, when Gravner's PsyOps are done, you won't just be able to recreate Cotarella's merlots, you'll be able to recreate Cotarella himself! Consultant sprawl!
Joe Riley
Found this here: http://j-walkblog.com/index.php?/weblog/po...ne_and_magnets/ The commentary says it all. Spend your $29.95 on better wine instead.

That was my first experience with a pile-on from eG management. Best left forgotten.
Lydia R
Not again... Yes, hopefully none of you saw me driving into work this morning laughing my head off (just having read this thread before hitting the road) when this story was broadcast (between traffic reports) on WTOP radio. This is for a competitor of Wine Clip -- the Bev Wizard, although they both share magnet technology.... Is there a scheduled PR blitz every couple of months?
