I saw that the floor was spongy, but didn't think it was a springboard.

No Lochte comments. I found this clip informative. Check out the 2:31 mark where a guy does a triple layout with more of a runway to work with. How he gets that high in the air without some kinda springboard is freakin' amazing.

A friend, who is always mining for gems musically speaking, turned me on to Ted Hawkins several years ago. I only have one of his recordings. "The Next Hundred Years" is well worth checking out. His voice is somehow warm and sweet yet hardened and haunting. There's definitely a bluesy aspect to his music, but also a lot of folk and soul. I can't really think of anyone quite like him. He was a busker at heart; always reluctant to record his music. One of my favorite tunes is "Strange Conversation": I had a strange conversation My baby called me on the phone She said that your next lover's gonna be the blues And now I'm gonna be gone I like his take on Credence Clearwater Revival's "Long As I Can See The Light": Enjoy!

I'm always on the lookout for the remote, mysterious, and dangerous parts of our world and the Darién Gap between Panama and Columbia is certainly one of them. I heard about this on NPR: Jun 22, 2016 - "Via Cargo Ships and Jungle Treks, Africans Dream of Reaching the U.S." by Carrie Kahn on npr.org Refugees from Africa are making their way through the impossibly rugged terrain and braving confrontation with FARC and drug lords. I had never thought of South/Central America as a destination for refugees from so far away. I also didn't know about the 19,000 mile-long Pan-American highway that's interrupted by this area. Anyway, check it out.

I hadn't even thought of Buenos Aires. I'm assuming it's worth the visit? I imagine I'll only have 7 or 8 days to work with.

I've heard that Uruguay is a wonderful country to visit-- especially Montevideo. So I'm toying with the idea of going sometime this winter. Has anyone been? Have you found any good travel resources? I'm an "off the beaten path" kind of guy, so any intel on the less touristy parts of the country would be great.

Eating at Nationals Park
Al Dente replied to Joe Riley's topic in Washington DC Restaurants and Dining
The lines were long everywhere except those italian sausage/brat stands. So I got a sausage with pepper and onions. When I got back to my seat, there was so much liquid from the veggies that the bun was impossible to pick up. Ate what remained with my bare freakin' hands. Lesson: check your food before you go back to your seat.- 607 replies

An assortment of stir-fried semi-fresh produce that out-survived the other stuff which we composted. Served up on a bed of udon noodles with baked red miso-coated tofu cubes. I also made some lamb burgers with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, lots of red pepper flakes, red onion, and sesame oil. Those burgers rocked!

Parking garage across from Target at Rio Center in Gaithersburg. I found the artist's juxtaposition of medically accurate terminology with slang fascinating. Combining the two words into one with the added punctuation is pure genius.

I agree, 20% seems really high. I thought that the ones that don't open are probably bad. Eat, or even smell, one bad mussel and you won't eat mussels for months. There's something especially revolting in that smell. Gack!

How are the pokestops determined/identified? There is a pokestop behind my office building that's just a small steel sculpture (6 feet high, 4 feet across?). It ain't like people come from miles around to see it-- or even feet around.

I have read that this has already happened - not a pedophile, but robbers using the "lure" feature in the game. More from cnn.com: "What Pokémon GO Has To Do with an Armed Robbery and a Dead Body" by Clara Lindh
