  1. Are these harder questions?
  2. I can spend hours reading this stuff: https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/ For example, do you want to know if your flashlight's light will reach Mars? Why does that frozen chicken thaw so quickly on a granite countertop? Would we know how to have sex if we were never taught that it exists? Enjoy!
  3. In the past, I've seen them growing wild right here. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.4311372,-77.7969281,17z They're in between the water plant and the Potomac. Facing the river, head to the right. I don't get the enthusiasm about ramps. They're fine and all, but what's the big deal?
  4. Diced bell(?) peppers and tomato that was kinda stewed down, almost like ratatouille, with potatoes. Fried egg on top.
  5. In case anyone is interested, it was Mintwood Place. Pork belly hash-- I loved it!
  6. It was a super delicious kinda brunchy dish. Pork belly was involved. Not pictured is the fried egg which I had already consumed. Edited to add: Fried egg.
  7. I'll have to check this out! Found their website: http://www.charcoalchicken.com/
  8. John Oliver was hilarious on The Daily Show as both a contributor and the host in Jon Stewart's absence. Here are some bits that are as relevant today as ever. "Gun Control Woop-Dee-Doo" is especially well worth a watch. Apr, 2014 - "The Best of John Oliver on the Daily Show" by Jesse David Fox on vulture.com
  9. My seven year-old daughter won't eat anything "exotic" except Pad Thai, so we checked this joint out Friday night. Service was friendly, but it took a long time for our food to arrive even though the restaurant still had a few empty tables. I ordered the Spicy Beef Salad to start and the Slow-braised Pork as my entree. The salad was disappointing with its browning root ends of iceberg lettuce. I wouldn't say the beef, which I'm pretty sure was flank, was gamy, but perhaps it was a heavy hand on the fish sauce that overpowered the beef flavor. I started off enjoying the pork, but with each bite the sauce tasted sweeter and sweeter until it seemed like I could have put the sauce on some vanilla ice cream and it would have been good. Additionally, about a third of the chunks of pork were virtually all fat. The Pad Thai, however, was about as good as I've had. The noodles weren't gummy, greasy or dry, the veggies were fresh, and it had just enough of that smokiness to make it interesting. I couldn't believe how much she ate! The location of the bathroom was a little weird. You have to squeeze your way through the expediting area of the kitchen to get there. La Ong Thai Website
  10. Have you been watching Colbert lately? Over the last couple of weeks, for the first time, The Late Show has better ratings than The Tonight Show. His monologues are funny yet pointed. His take on the Flynn fiasco: it's funny cause it's treason "Sean Spicer, the M.C. Escher of bullshit." LOL
  11. So, General Flynn is out. His former adviser, his son, was part of the Comet Ping Pong debacle. "Son of Trump Security Adviser Spread Baseless 'Pizza Gate' Conspiracy" by Tai Kopan on cnn.com
  12. I have it on some degree of authority that Mom's in Arlington has some in stock. Call ahead perhaps.
  13. The old geezer is at it again! "Roger Federer Beats Stan Wawrinka To Reach Australian Open Final" on bbc.com Tune in to ESPN at 3am on Sunday! He might be up against Nadal.
