Total Wine has a very nice online inventory search engine (Macarthur's uses the same tool). Alas, they do not appear to have the rosado.

Does this mean you'll open in Silver Spring any earlier?

Picked up some peaches Saturday at the new, but still lame, market in SS. Next week peaches should be perfect.

FWIW -- Monastrell is the Spanish name for Mourvedre. Never heard of Bobal.

Tasted these all this year? Wow, Joe I'm impressed. One question -- When are you sober enough to keep notes? Oh yeah, welcome!

Passage to India! I've heard some good murmurs about New Orleans Bistro, but I thought that it was at a price point (cheap) that wouldn't much benefit from the Restaurant Week paradigm.

Speaking of sodium -- go into Panera and look at their nutritional breakdown. That shit's worse for you than McD's

Over at the Society , I had a big debate with Steve Klc and Sam Kinsey about Chipotle. I had received a nutrition breakdown on request from them and was shocked at the fat and the sodium content. Steve's position was that they are marketing "fresh not healthy". I thought he was full of it and that they blur the lines and market "fresh" as signifying healthy. Kinsey was on the Steingarten worshipping "no link between sodium and blood pressure". Steingarten has pulled the old "all the dr's are lying. My group of researchers show no links". Both the AMA and the British Medical Association say that some hypertension is indeed not affected by salt, but there's no way of telling which cases. As long as that is the case, I'm going to follow their advice and watch my intake.

Whole beans. I grind fresh every morning. Didn't exactly have the patience to pull out mortar and pestle. -

I'm a big Cafe Ole fan. Somewhere on a eG I posted a rave. In my book it's some of the best Eastern Mediterranean mezze around. It also has one of the nicest patios in town. -
The place where I've seen the most power players was the deli on the first floor of the CNN building just north of Union Station. Everyone makes it through there. Not a "power restaurant", but chock full of big names. BTW -- Robert Reich really is that short. He almost needed a step stool to see over the counter. Wolf Blitzer on the other hand is a really big guy. About the height and build of our own Jacques Gastreaux.

There are several free online image hosting sites. I use www.imageshack.us to hold things like Peanut's favorite onesie -- -
That's what I have. Mrs JPW bought it when she was in grad school. It's been used about once a week for 7 or 8 years and never a problem. The "Keep Warm" setting works very well.

My cooker has measuring ticks for water on the inside of the bin. No worrying about varying finger lengths.
