  1. Sounds like that offer is on the table for everyone on DR. I look forward to taking advantage of you, I mean of your offer. ---
  2. I'm so glad my wife bought tickets to the Living Social deal he had back in February for twice that price. Palm palm palm palm palm palm face face face face face. FACE !
  3. You should have the press conference at Pork Barell BBQ. Oh wait, they don't serve BBQ there.
  4. Contact a few farms: http://www.eatwild.com/ http://www.localharvest.org/
  5. Garlic needs to be wintered over? Is it harvested in Spring the following year? How exactly does that work?
  6. I don't think you meant Bridgeport haha. No matter how good the pizza is, I wouldn't ever reccomend travelling to Bridgeport !
  7. I call shenanigans. You can't have a real job and have time to make all those delicious meals !
  8. Did the other thread get locked or deleted? I can't access it.
  9. We went to the Living Social Bandolero "pop-up." ($120/seat) I wasn't really impressed, some of the flavors were meh. The highlight was probably the blue crab taquitos, which were not rolled, but mini crispy folded taco shells. They were pretty flavorful. The food at Graffiato is much much better than what we sampled here. I think the meal was worth half of what we paid. Spike was there getting his VIP treatment. He graced us lowely ones with his presence in the lounge where we waited for 40 minutes for our table guzzling free champagne. I'm sure he was there for the free champagne. I saw him go up stairs towards the dining room, but he did not eat there. Must have had a a VIP table elsewhere, looking down at the dining room from above. There was a tequila cocktail served with every course, it was very generous but the cocktails were really not good. After the main dinner courses came out a cucumber mezcal low ball. It appeared to be a pallet cleanser, but tasted like terpentine. Mike is a nice enough guy. He always shows his face at Graffiato and chatted it up with our table at the pop-up. One of our diners mentioned how they didn't like the Mezcal drink and he brushed it off saying... "to each is own." i guess he didn't want the constructive criticism from the people actually there to support his new venture. I have never really disliked Mike like I do Spike. Mike is what he appears to be on the surface. Doing his thing and not really caring about what people think/say. That is good and all until he gets in over his head and forgets how he got to where he is. Without Bravotv, he wouldn't be as well known, and he might still be at Zaytinya. No way could he have opened his own place. He is quickly slipping out of my mind. I guess he can thank Toyota, GE and Ziplock for putting that $$$ in his pockets. That is a sad state of affairs.
  10. Heading down to C'Ville for our honeymoon next week. Glad these suggestions came at the time they did !
  11. It's a web app. Much like Google's "apps." You don't actually install Google apps to your smart phone, they just exist as shortcuts, and are optimized for Safari/your browser.
  12. Considering a Frank Pepe's white clam is only $26, then yes. They have, a you know, some history. And don't tell me fresh clams are cheaper in Connecticut than in Maryland.
  13. How can that be a lose lose situation if you ate for free? Hahahahaha. You cherish your money eh? You just got a free meal.
  14. Spinach and roasted garlic gnocchi, bacon, baby bellas, lobster meat, lemon zest sauteed cherry tomatoes and a sage, thyme, and rosemary infused bechamel.
  15. I got a speed camera ticket driving to 270 on a residential road coming home from Strathmore last month. 37 in a 25. FYI... mind your speed, haha.
  16. Interesting, thanks! Is it definitely the "soapiness" that offends her palette. We love Thai food and eat it often. When the leaves are sprinkled on top, she tends to move them away with her fork. It appears that the "distinctly Thai" flavorings we often enjoy incorporates that flavor of the roots. I might give that a try.
  17. Are cilantro stems as "flagrant" as the leaves after cooked ? They must add some sort of depth to the sauce. I love cilantro but future wife is more sensitive to it. This sounds wonderful.
  18. Had a really wonderful meal here last night. For those of you that aren't familiar w/ ScoutMob. It is an email based or smartphone app based coupon system. No purchase necessary, just show the coupon to the waiter/waitress and you shall receive the discount. Anyways, Hanks Old Town has $15 off right now, which is a nice discount considering it is free. It is good until May I beileive. In Old Town right now, Paradisio, and Flying Fish also have coupons going. ANYWAYS, on to the food. We started with 6 of the largest oysters I have ever seen. They were Malpeque I believe. Very briny and tasy, and huge. It was Taco Tuesday, so I opted for the Talapia tacos. Really wonderful crunchy tacos with very ripe avocado, a nice pico and some crema or sourcream. Twas a really nice meal. Future wife had a soy glazed sable fish. Super flavorful dish, she really enjoyed it. The sides were the stars though. Roasted cauiflower and roasted sunchokes. Beautifully starchy, burnt, crisp, salty goodness. Nice large portions too for $5.
  19. From a Thrillist email. Haven Pizzeria Napoletana A 'za heavyweight hits Bethesda You know how people get all psyched about having a bun in the oven? Well, then just imagine how ecstatic they'll be when they have a much more exciting pizza in the 200-ton brick one at Haven Pizzeria Napoletana, soft-opening next Monday!
  20. Browning in the oven: beef, lamb, chorizo, and bacon meatballs w/ garlic, red onion, cilantro, parm reg., and lime zest. Simmering on the stovetop: chipotle tomato roasted garlic sauce for them to braise in.
  21. Yep, If we went 5x3 we could print 4 stickers per 8.5x11 page. Cut them with a guillotine. Name the design.
