You can also get them at Friday lunch and, if I remember right, on Thursday evenings. The fried onion rings are nonpareil, too. Anything fried there, really.
Hooray. Well done, Mr. Kliman. And well done to The James Beard Society for recognizing poetry even when most of its members are only proficient in prose.
For a short time only (I would guess), but very good right now at 2 Amys: Durham bread crostini with fava bean puree, olive oil and shaved pecorino.
Bonus -- watching every member of staff variously set to skinning fresh favas at each lull in their other duties.
I've had lunch on the little patio at Montmartre while my dog happily solicited Eastern Market passers-by for ear scritches. The outdoor area at Red Dog Cafe is another nice place for a coffee and danish after walking your best friend in Rock Creek Park. They have dog bowls and hitching posts.
And even if you're too shy to just about do it at the table like Nadya, a couple of Atlantico's killer mojitos with brunch will definitely put you in the mood for a little lie-down when you get home!
Great report.
There's been a fair bit of carping about inconsistency at Oyamel, but I'm still a fan. Oxtail tacos, smoky lentils with pineapple and mole fries -- lunch of champions!
I believe this may be the first time in my life that anyone has ever labeled me a shrimp. It's quite enjoyable. Nice to see everybody. Sorry I'm late. Is the bar still open?
