  1. We eat again at Freddy’s last night and found the cold lobster roll was much less lemony (if that is a word). I like it and more importantly so did my wife. I was also reading the back and forth on the price at Freddy’s and my wife I both think that the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
  2. My wife had the cold lobster roll and thought the lemon zest was overpowering. I tried it and agreed. We though that the roll would be better with a hint of lemon/lime rather the the amount they used.
  3. The concept is great but the Pizza is only OK. At least that is my view on it from eating at the New Orleans store last year.
  4. My wife and I went for the opening this quarter. We found the food was very well done and the serving staff very well organized. They are open for Lunch and Dinner this quarter on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I believe lunch runs from 11:30 Am to 1pm and dinner from 7:30 to 9:30. I think the general public should give it a try. It is a very good meal for the price and everyone there is trying very hard to hone their craft.
  5. We have eaten at Cava Grill twice since it has opened. We have liked both the lamb and the pork. The only complaint my wife has is that there is not desserts to solve her sweet tooth cravings at the end of the meal. Jeff
  6. The biscuits are my wife's favorite thing on the menu. I have tried them and I did not find them that salty. maybe it veries from batch to batch?
  7. I would say that one of my worst BarBeCue experiances was at Famous Dave's. I will not be going back.
  8. I went out in the rain this morning to try the Lambchopper Pao de Queijos. They were excellent. I am in favor of them haveing them on a regualr basis. I "had to settle" for a bag of the chourico/cheddar which were very good (they have been all eaten already today )
  9. I learned to cook from my Mother and one of my aunts. Both of my grandmothers and my other 5 aunts and none of my uncles could cook any think anyone would eat. I have 18 first cousins that all lived within a few miles of each other and the question every night was to either go to my mothers or my Aunt Millie. My mother cooked all of the standard Jewish and Creole standards ( I know a weird combination, but that is what you get in a Jewish family in New Orleans). My Aunt had sent many years in Japan and had a lot of Japanese influence in her cooking. I used to watch my mother cook and then imitate the things she made. When I got to be around 11 I would go though the different cookbooks we had and find recopied that looked interesting and ask my mother to try them. Some worked and some did not. I also started experimenting with trying to cook different things. I also spent time in Southern Mexico growing up and tried to learn from the maids and cooks how to cook southern Mexican food. They where older women and did not think that a man should know how to cook so they where not that willing to teach me. But I did spend a lot of time watching what they did and the techniques they used. Ever since I have left home I have always done a lot of cooking. Either because my roommates did not do very well at it or that they did not like to. My wife does not like to cook so I have always been the cook at home.
  10. I was courius about this. Is this a passover rule?
  11. I have been twice. It has been a while, 9 months or so since the last time I went. I thought the food was very good. I forgot what we had each time but we tried the Portuguese specality items. One of them was salt cod based. I think it is deffently worth a try if you have not been.
