  1. I'd rank them 1. Fogo 2. Texas 3. Chima. But there isn't such a significant gap that I wouldn't let convenience or price be a deciding factor.
  2. It's just late night. And I'm not suggesting it's not damage control, or taking a position on racist-or-not, just that those who read the article when it was first posted didn't see the update.
  3. There's a certain amount of "whataboutism" there. Nobody is saying that instructors and students weren't also hurt. But one can care about two things at once. We don't know what his financial situation was - remember that they had a fire in August and lost a ton of money, equipment, revenue, etc. Maybe he poured a ton of personal money in and still couldn't get back to level. Maybe he's a prick and ran away with what cash was left. Not sure we'll ever know.
  4. Not even close. Though the film was fatally flawed, Stewart was far from terrible in it. He's done some serious stinkers, like Mastermind, Safe House, Dad Savage, Star Trek: Insurrection...
  5. FYI - our normal site of Fort Hunt Park, C-2, season is April through October, and the site should open up for reservations sometime in January. $200.
  6. I've still got a collection of DR.com picnic dry goods in a box in my garage. I'm in!
  7. PSG and Real are certainly 2 of the top few teams remaining. In some ways, it's disappointing to see one of them go in the round of 16. Chelsea unlikely to take out Barca, but Liverpool and Tottenham both have reasonable chances to advance. It would be crazy if 4 of the final 8 were EPL.
  8. Not sure if they are legally BYOB, but they've never objected when I went to the package store in the same shopping center, and brought a six pack with me.
  9. Can't wait for Thanksgiving! We won't have cars, and while we could cab/Uber/etc., generally if we can't walk there from Southern Seas (a few blocks north of Commercial), we don't bother.
  10. BTW - continued thanks for posting the Broward updates! I grew up in Coral Springs, and still come home to visit twice a year. Usually once to CS in Feb, and then Thanksgiving at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. We always include Basilic and Aruba Beach in our visit, and stone crabs from Fish Peddler. We will probably give Vincent's a try this year, based on your rec.
  11. I assume you mean Oakland Park and Federal Highway, since Commercial and Oakland park are parallel...
  12. Agreed. I have found a lot of their order ahead stuff to be not any more special than the rest of the menu, but often priced beyond what I would consider reasonable.
  13. BZZZZZT. Sorry, I grew up in Philly, and while I'm fine with wiz on steaks, it certainly is still a Philly steak with other cheeses, American and Provolone being the most common. In fact, if you dive into the history, the first generation of steaks didn't have cheese at all, and the first to make an appearance was provolone. My go-to has always been "Pizza Steak wit", which is sharp provolone, onions, and "red gravy", otherwise known as Sunday sauce or tomato sauce.
  14. That's awesome - I love Taco Bar!
  15. Long-time member @kitkatpaddywak is back in DC this weekend, and would love to meet up with friends (old and new) for dim sum on Saturday. Post here or PM if interested. Dim sum is more fun with a group! Note that Tim Carman recently rated Hollywood East as the best cheap eats place in the metro area.
