The Jersey-style dogs at Baby Wale are pretty good as well.

I agree with GAHD. If you want Chicago-style, it's a bit far out, but Windy City Red Hots in Leesburg is pretty good. It's my regular haunt before shows at the Tally Ho. I just checked their website - they seem to have added locations in Ashburn and Frederick, MD.

They're unofficially open weekdays from 11:30-3 for a few weeks - they don't have enough staff yet for full operations. Limited menu for the time being - thick and thin pizzas, meatball parm, chicken parm, drinks.

I love Rocky Hudson! He was a player on my local team growing up, the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. And of course he coached DC United for a couple of seasons.

At my daughter's high school, Cava Grill is second only to Chipotle for places that the teens like to go eat. I think that's pretty awesome.

We went for lunch with a group during their last week in operation. It was a perfectly decent meal, but pretty much every dish we had, the group agreed that another place in Rockville did it better.

Maybe the original baristas are gone? Two visits in the last two weeks generated some pretty poor espressos, a waste of quality beans.

It's true, the competition was weak. FYI, the Paul Newman award was just the previous year, which probably added to the media attention for giving lifetime achievement awards.

Oh, he was handed the trophy for that role, but everyone knew it was for a body of work, not really for that part.

Nah, that was an Academy-sponsored Lifetime Achievement award. He played himself in that movie. I can name a dozen roles he was better in than that.

This article, from Eater a bit over a year ago, says that Mazza has been out since sometime in 2015.

My problem with the film was this: most of the audience calls it a "feel good" film. That's how it was marketed. Gump himself lives a fairly magical life, with the world seeming to revolve around him, and he always comes up aces. But nearly everyone he is close to is worse off for that relationship. He is inadvertently toxic to all who come into his orbit. He's a black hole. It's a profoundly cynical movie, that was poorly marketed and directed to adjust your sympathies.

I'm the opposite of you - I've been to Métier, but not P&P, so I also don't feel qualified to compare.

I was there last week with a 6-top, so we got to sample quite a few things. We got the whole roasted foie lobe - it was worth every penny of the $150. No joke. We also had the lobster french toast (I order this every time, and the one time we didn't, Chef sent one out as a gift. He sure showed me!), and the Duck Confit a L'Orange. That duck was incredible - it was compressed into a loaf with the crispy skin on top. I didn't want to share. For mains, we shared the whole chicken, short ribs, and seared scallops. I'd order every single one again. They're all what I feel like when I eat Eric's food - they are classic preparations, with enough of a twist to make you consider the ingredient and the preparation, without distracting from the food. Desserts (we did not have room at this point, but soldiered on) included the maple syrup dumplings and creme brulee. And birthday ice cream cake! The praline they are currently serving with the coffee is cinnamon cashew. They are different restaurants, but there's something of a parallel between Kinship/Metier and Rose's Luxury/Pineapple and Pearls. I know that the Silverman pair gets the media attention, but having eaten at Rose's just a couple of weeks ago, given the choice, I'd go to Kinship every time.

The current Congress was handed a relatively new car that needed a tuneup and a few minor repairs. Instead, they decided they wanted a new car. But the car they wanted to buy was a 30-year-old Yugo for the price of a Joint Strike Fighter.

Don, happy to meet you to watch a game on the tube together any time. That's the best way to learn. Or come with me to RFK - I have season tickets.

I get my VOIP through Comcast currently; I'd have to get it separately if I dropped my package. Not yet willing to give up the phone number I've had for 25 years. Friends only have my mobile number, but schools, utilities, etc. all have my "home" number.

Sling, with taxes and the channels I want, is $90/month. But I wouldn't get ABC, CBS, PBS, CW, Showtime - stations I watch. I'd still need internet service - call it $60/mo after taxes/fees. Then I'd have to pay for VOIP service. Maybe $10/mo. That's about $160/mo. My Comcast X1 bill, after taxes/fees, including internet, phone, whole-house DVR (and some cloud capabilities) and a gazillion more channels (some of which I watch) than Sling is $200. Not a huge savings for a lot of functionality loss.

I've considered cutting a few times, but I watch way too much live sports (specifically, soccer) to have a practical way around cable. Other than low quality, inconsistent, illegal feeds, I don't know how to get my FS1, BeIN, ESPN, Comcast Sportsnet, etc. without subscribing to Comcast.

Has anyone tried one of the two other Uyghur restaurants in the area: Queen Ammanisa in Arlington or Kiroran in Fairfax?
