  1. please everbody , help me out here !!! I truly know that all of you love hazelnut bars , in the real name ` Michel`s Chocolate Hazelnut Bars`. Everybody loves them , I love them. the problem comes when they are called `kitkats or kitkat bars` .Chef is getting so mad when he hears `kitkats` and punishing the service staff. Chef see it is not us , it is THEM calling the hazelnut bars as `kitkats`.I dont say kitkat. You should give them all the punishment Merry Christmas to everybody and happy holiday.
  2. Zaytinya served `olive oil ice cream` past summer. that was very interesting and quite good.
  3. Im not going to talk about starbucks coffee , but Im sure every business owner needs to learn from starbucks corp. they currently have over 12,000 stores worldwide and they are planning this number to be 40,000 stores. they sure know how to operate.
  4. keep eating subway. , just a joke. in the past years I have no food restrictions (low fat, butter,evoo) I eat everything I want and I eat a lot. People around me are usually impressed with the amount of food I eat. but for me the reason for is simple : I exercise . I go to the gym , I play soccer or table tennis . you need to exercise on a regular basis. wake up 40 minutes earlier in the morning and go for jogging or do some push ups , just dont give up. if you feel alone in this you need to find some friends and make it more entertaining. good luck.

  8. saying `that server is fired` online to Mr Sietsema may be poor excuse of the manager just to make the restaurant and management look good(innocent) again and giving the impression that they care. I wouldnt believe without seeing actual papers.

  10. are these the same people serving a red wine and calling it `this is a red chardonnay` ? you definitely can have red wine with fish. just make sure it is not a red zinfandel
  11. the country Im from , you drop the check without the customer asking it , would be one of the biggest mistakes of your life. but in here it is different. you dont give the check after dessert , it is called French, and people like it because they dont feel rushed out....you give the check right away , people like that too because they have a show to catch. It is all about reading the customers mind.
  12. from the customers side and some other industry peoples side it may seem nice and complementing the server , but in my mind I always feel good and sad at the same time. It is really a good feeling when someone asks you to wait on them because they feel comfortable with you asking 20 different questions about the menu or the wine, about your pet and haircut, about the car that you bought last week.... And as the server you know it from the heart how to satisfy those people, taking another step for them and kicking up another notch as the service. This is a great dialogue between you and your specific server. But here is my sad part , look at the picture from the restaurants(owner,gm,chef,manager) side. 75% of the customers are asking the same server. that means the service given at this restaurant is usually not the same. if they get the good server they`ll be happy but if they dont that means something negative. I just wish the service given at a restaurant could be almost same by all the servers.(I know it wont be exactly same) I know a world class restaurant in US when you go the second time and ask the same server you will not get it on purpose. Because the owner thinks and knows that all of the servers working at this place are providing the same Class-A service. I hope you understand my concern.
  13. restaurants (either very good or terrible) may run out of things anytime . this is as normal as breathing air. I dont think any restaurant holds an 18-wheeler in front of its loading dock fully loaded with bread or tomatoes.

  16. About your burgers , what kind of meat are you using , what is the fat % , do you like the burgers you make, can the bun make an ok burger a good burger is it that important or it is just a bun; doesnt matter ? Thank you for the opportunity Don and Thanks Chef Brendan.
  17. it was june 10th when I first tried that new Ravi across the old place. I brought some friends with me and we were the only people in the house besides the three cooks , cashier and the owner. I had a short chat with the owner and said congrats. couple days later another friend of mine told me that the new place is not open yet because when he arrived no one was there so he had to go to the old place. the owner also mentioned that he is aiming more families than individuals in the new place.
  18. in addition , - the printer in the kitchen may be unplugged or out of paper , so the chef wont see your order even it is placed in the POS system.
  19. I still believe we should put a soccer team together of Donrockwell.com. It was great to see alot of people on sunday and I really had great time. to me the goat cheese with lavender was the winner of all the food. Thanks zoramargolis. We should also put a cigar smokers team together. Im looking forward to the next picnic. hopefully I`ll be able to wake up early and cook something.
