  1. I had the Cask version of Heavy Seas Great'ER Pumpkin during a Brewery Tour last weekend. It was fantastic!
  2. I concur that Miss Shirley's is pretty great. Before moving to the area, we always made plans to go there during our trips to Baltimore.
  3. Thoughts? "Getting A Good Table By Flicking An App, Not Greasing A Palm" by Julia Moskin on nytimes.com
  4. That is a fantastic piece. If/when I meet him, I'll have to tell him my heavy metal & wine story, that involves a member of Slipknot...
  5. That's a shame. SEO matters.
  6. A Master Sommelier who is also a huge fan of Heavy Metal? I have GOT to meet this guy...
  7. I'll have to check this out. I'm a sucker for Korean & Chinese food, but a fusion of the two is even more interesting!
  8. Exactly. I've often thought about separating them, but search works so well that I don't have to.
  9. Yes, this was the case when we last dined at Jackson 20.
  10. Thanks for that - I've seen a lot of chatter about the XLB at Bob's Shanghai. I'll have to head there once we've moved to the area...
  11. I can't wait to give these a try once we move to the area in July. I'm a sucker for good dips & hummus...
  12. We've had good luck with the Kirkland Malbec (around $8). We buy a lot of staples and other items there (paper towels, laundry/dishwasher detergent, TP, etc). We also get bags of frozen fruit for smoothies & margaritas. Since my Bourbon Pecans have been a big hit with friends & family, I've taken to buying 2lb bags of pecans there, 3-4 bags at a time. I noticed while stocking up at a Orlando-area location during our last Disney trip that they also sell Mayorga Coffee. They have 5# bags of the Hawaiian Hazelnut on their site for $39.99!
  13. This is exactly what I do. I save my recipes to a Evernote notebook for access on my iPhone/iPad/Mac.
  14. First off, Welcome to Cleveland! There are quite a few dining options downtown. Lola & The Greenhouse Tavern are both on E. 4th St., and are owned by Iron Chef Michael Symon & Food & Wine Best New Chef Jonathon Sawyer, respectively. Red The Steakhouse, right around the corner on Prospect, is rated as one of the top Steakhouses in the US. Hodge's is about a block away, on Euclid. Owned by Chris Hodgson (Spotted Pig, FN's Great Food Truck Race). Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, ping me! Edited to Add: Uber & Lyft are now available in Cleveland, so you now have that as an option in addition to taxis & transit. Cheers, Dave
  15. Thanks for the info on this. We had XLB at Shanghai Taste during our last DC trip and liked them. We've been on the hunt for crab/pork XLB since we had them at Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao in NYC. Will definitely check JDS out once we relocate to Gaithersburg!
  16. Hello! I'm Dave, and currently living in (and from) Cleveland, Ohio, but will be relocating to Gaithersburg in July. My wife Jennifer, a foot & ankle surgeon, is joining a practice in Gaithersburg beginning August 1. We have family in the Baltimore area, so we visit quite a bit. We have had great meals at Jackson 20, Chinatown Express, and Shanghai Taste. I look forward to getting to know you, and welcome any and all suggestions of places to check out! Cheers, Dave
