  1. Anybody want to go to Sonoma for happy hour Friday?
  2. Yeah, and packed with tourists! Actually, I think it's next to where the Ted's is going to be in Crystal City, too, but I can't picture the sequence of stores offhand. Coldstone after Oyamel always seems kind of wrong, but sometimes I do it anyway. "Coffee Lover's" combo with white chocolate chips for me. bookluvingbabe: Crystal City store doesn't seem too into the singing. The one back home in CT, on the other hand...
  3. Wait....Seitsema is going to appear in public? Somebody get that man a Nixon mask!
  4. No, I was down there yesterday, and there's no sign of any construction.
  5. Breadline's chocolate cupcake is rich, gooey, not too fluffy/not too dense, chocolatey perfection. Truely a noble cupcake. Also, I'd like to give them a shout-out for having Boylan's soda. I love Black Cherry, and the only time I can ever seem to get it is when I go back home to Super Duper Weenie.
  6. The [conceptual | hypothetical | rumored] Crystal City TJ's isn't going to be very large, either, unless they expand the space, which it doesn' tlook like they're doing.
  7. Anybody want to hit Circle Bistro or Firefly for HH tonight?
  8. Sure, it's possible to take anything too seriously. Food is just easy to take 'too' seriously because there are so many aspects to focus on, and levels of eating to judge and compare. Other members of this club include car fanatics and 'audiophiles'. There is nothing wrong with taking food 'too' seriously. The problem comes with the attitude with which you present it. Oh, and Mark: Not bad, but I do mine with ground beef, half an onion, caremelized, and some garlic, then mix a little dijon mustard and a few tablespoons of salsa, into the 'sauce'. I use Annie's mac and cheese mix, though. There's nothing wrong with mac and cheese out of a box!
  9. Pff...he's trying to say that's not burnt! Please...
  10. Oh, well...that's still probably good. A True 'vanilla bourbon stout' will have to wait until I get home from class. Or better, a deconstructed vanilla bourbon stout.
  11. Vanilla. Bourbon. Stout. Nope, there's no part of that I don't like the sound of! Except maybe the vanilla, at least in a 'beer' context. Definitely merits a try!
  12. Which brewpubs are those? I'm relatively sure that Old Dominion Brewery has a cask ale, but I don't know if it's hand-pumped or not. Not that it makes a difference, since I always have to drive myself out there to get my growlers refilled!
  13. Wait a minute, wait a minute....there was leftover CHEESE?? There's no such thing as 'leftover cheese'!
  14. I thought it was the Fire Marshall complaining of the fire hazard of having the grill on the sidewalk, but either way, it'll be open today, with seating inside.
  15. It always rains on days when I am able to go to the Grill. This understanding can be extended to all things. Anybody going?
  16. 4:21 and I'm only starting to consider the need for lunch! That HAS to be the sign of a great picnic! Thanks, everybody!
