  1. Some damn fine hae-mool pajun and the croaker (and the belt fish and all the other fishes that I've had there that Grover won't tell me the names of but it doesn't matter because they're mighty tasty) and the miso that comes with everything are all great. If you go, either go early for lunch or be prepared to wait 15 to 20 minutes for a table.
  2. Today is free ice cream cone day at Ben & Jerrys from noon until 8:00pm. Here's the link and there goes the diet...
  3. We have a Sanyo which holds about 45 to 50 bottles. It holds its temperature quite well, is quiet and will fit under a counter if you have the space. We're quite pleased with it.
  4. It's been 4 years already? Wow!! It only seems like a lifetime
  5. as in EEEEKKK!!! A mouse! or as in OHHHHHH!! An amuse bouche?
  6. I think the Leesburg location has closed. I didn't see the Zefferelli's sign the last time I was out there (it's right behind the Shell station where I normally stop when I'm there)
  7. If you should find yourself anywhere near the Strathcona neighborhood in Vancouver, try Au Petit Chavignol. It's a wine bar, boite, cahrcuterie and the owner is a maitre fromager. Lots of excellent wines and lots of small plates. Au Petit Chavignol is on Hastings Street. It's a bit out of the way but worth looking for.
  8. ...and it says Chef Nathan Anda with good reason. Nate is Chef for the next little while until the new chef takes over. We were there about a month ago and the food is better than ever. Hard to go wrong with Nate and Tallula.
  9. We live in Alexandria and make that jaunt to Dino quite often. Metro right at the door? Check! Ten or 12 minute wait? Check! Dean's great food? Double-check...
  10. Just a normal hangover curing soup. It's not even sneaky, it's blatant and it's right in front of you. Imagine if you had a hangover what you'd feel...
  11. and might be somewhat easier for you to get to in the evenings. However on Saturday afternoon, it's not a bad drive and the food is good. (Be careful, this place can be a bit difficult to find but it's worth it)
  12. While I have had passable sushi made by a Spanish "sushi chef", it just wasn't quite the same as having sushi made by someone who had grown up with sushi as commonplace fare. My one (and only) trip to PFChang with Grover ended with us asking why dumplings would want to swim in a bowl of soy sauce and declaring, that in spite of what the server thought, Caucasians did, as a matter of fact, eat whole (even with the head on) steamed fish...even if it took calling the manager over to tell him the same thing. The fact that the food we were served was a pale imitation of American/Chinese food might have put us off a bit. Don't even get me started on Cafe Asia which should take the Cafe out of the name and just call itself "Meet-Market-ersatz-Asian-food Joint". From a waitress who insisted that Lipton made real "Chinese" tea to dumplings roughly the size of quarters, to sushi that combined tastes never imagined in the known universe...meh!!
  13. I don't know about you, but I just ask Grover to get the ingredients and we have it at home...
  14. and here I thought this thread was about Bridgestone tires...(I think Potenza is a trademark of Bridgestone. YMMV)
  15. More then 10 people and the place would come to a standstill. There are at the max 7 tables (roughly what I remember) and they have a pretty consistent clientele. The food is excellent though...(going to have to go there for dinner this weekend, I'm getting hungry and it's only 07:00am in Amsterdam as I write this)
  16. Surely you don't expect accuracy and correct spelling from the Examiner? You're expecting way too much...
  17. he's going to combine the two websites into the International Herald Rockwell.com...
  18. Guess I'm going to have to pass as well...the commute from Amsterdam is a bit much...
  19. Wow! Two separate forums for one dinner....must have been superb...
