  1. Did VAFoodNut somehow get back on here with a new screen name?
  2. Old Fashioned. Johnny D green label, muddled sugar cube, 2 dashes Angostura and a dash Fee Bros Whiskey Barrel. No fruit
  3. Well, no, it is not a Diageo product, a little more H&S here.
  4. Man I was just there this evening looking for some of the ST Imperial stuff (of course w/ my luck there was nothing). I would of snagged some Conistion BB if I saw it. I did get the Chevy Chase vibe about Cairo though, in that I got a feeling that some of the beers have been sitting on the shelf a long while.
  5. Cool, I'll have to swing by P Street. I was recently at the WF Glover Park and was pretty dissapointed at how weak their beer selection had become. Back in the day when Hoppy Jeff and Dave from Rodman's were there it was awesome, but it has been significantly downsized. I recently picked up a bottle of Southern Tier's Cuvee One (part 1 of 3 in their oak aged series), and have heard good but not great things about it.
  6. Dave does have a great selection and often has the various Bell's beers at a good sale price per 6-pack. The fresh hop is a great beer albeit an expensive one. Other stores do have it in stock though as I have seen it at Chevy Chase and Wine Specialist. Speaking of Wine Specialist they just got in 5 cases of 3F Alpha King and 2 cases of Gumball Head so you might want to get over there before it is gone. Now if anyone could get the Southern Tier imperial bombers in with any regularity I would be a happy boy.
  7. I used to have clown loaches in my fish tank. I hope that these were not what Dong-Hae was serving
  8. The Volcanique from Verdier-Logel rocks!! They do make another Forez that Bassin's used to sell, but the Volcqanique is the more terroir driven of the two. 100% Gamay from the Loire and grown in some of the highest vineyards in all of France. Another Addis winner. I order a case through Riley and I think he now carries in on the shelf.
  9. Yeah Yeah Yeah...the 85 Krug is not going on ice tonight... drinking some Old Tom straight instead
  10. I struck the jackpot today and got this wine for $19.99 on sale at The Wine Source in Hampden. I think I cleaned them out of it.
  11. Very well could be the case, as I have only seen HS on draft around DC. I was up in B-more today and Wine Source had it in bombers so I stacked up.
  12. Don't forget about Enology! Chris is going to be unleashing his new cocktail list very soon. I know Ally and I will be there tomorrow to check it out.
  13. Or Vegas five or six times over as well as AC, Detroit, Minneapolis & Indy. Corduroy gets my vote as well.
  14. Yesterday-Lard des Choix, a funky crazy VdP syrah/gamay blend Tonight-2007 Heinrich Mayr Nusserhof lagrein rose Very nice to see more of L/D selections hitting the DC market.
  15. Agreed on all fronts. Awesome pig trio and loup de mer. Killer list we had a solid Boillot.
  16. Hmm. I would be all over this Roy Cloud gem---Voillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens. Might have to sign up for this
  17. From what I hear this blind pig has no permanent home.
  18. A little Dressner Chenin tasting. Francois Pinon Vouvray Cuvee Tradition (2006) Domaine du Closel Savennieres la Jalousie
  19. I will pop open a Silex in his honor. That is if my post dosen't get deleted
  20. Talk to Phil at Bassin's. He has the best german selection in the area. I know that they have the 06 in stock. The 07's are just starting to arrive and they should probably get it in stock within the next couple of months.
  21. It is closed. I went about four months ago and it was shut down due to lack of traffic.
